Super Bowl Sunday

Happy Super Bowl Sunday.  Last year I was so impressed by how many people make “edible stadiums” for their Super Bowl parties.  I kept seeing them pop up on Facebook and Instagram.  One of my closest friends even made one.  I did not know this was a “thing”.  This year, I will probably continue my tradition of going out for a super bowl dinner (probably with my daughters).  My son and husband will stay home and have friends over. and watch the game  Which ever team you are rooting for…enjoy the day.

Restaurant North

  • Yesterday, my book club visit Restaurant North in Armonk NY.  It was a real treat. “Former Union Square Cafe Wine & Spirit Dir. Stephen Mancini and former Union Square Cafe Sous Chef Eric Gabrynowicz join forces again, but this time in Armonk, NY at the new Restaurant North”.  It is a must try for the Westchester crowd.

Fashionable Friend Friday

This week’s Fashionable Friend has an amazing eye for antiques.  She can pick out the most beautiful vintage jewelry, objects and furniture.  A couple of weeks ago, she showed me a vintage gold necklace with multiple 3d fish charms.  It was so gorgeous, I cannot stop thinking about it.  I hope she sells it to me for my collection (hint hint)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Here are some similar beauties.  More are available on First Dibs, Ebay and Etsy!  Enjoy!

Simply Eartha

Last night I was so lucky to be able to hear Kitt Shapiro, the only child of Eartha Kitt speak about her mother’s legacy and the special relationship that they shared.  Kitt opened her heart to us about some difficult issues Eartha experienced being light skinned and not really fitting into the “white or black” category.  She spoke about traveling on the road as a young child and finally the sad last few days of her mother’s life with Colon Cancer.  Kitt was straightforward, honest and very funny.  She started a lifestyle brand, Simply Eartha, to honor her mother legacy, based around words or sayings that Kitt was famous for.  She called these “Kittisms”.  You can learn more about Kitt and Earta and see her beautiful products HERE

Wish List Wednesday

For this Wish List Wednesday, I am dying for a snake bracelet.  I would LOVE a vintage one but any of the ones below would do as well.  These bracelets are so chic and the prices really do run from low to high.  So, you do not have to break the bank for these beauties.  Check out Ebay and Etsy for some great options as well!
