Rigaud Candles…If You Know You Know…

Jackie Kennedy brought Rigaud candles to the White House. Halston always had one or two burning on his desk or coffee table. And Frank Sinatra would only have Rigaud candles in his homes. Now you too can have access to these amazing French luxury candles.

I started buying Rigaud during the quarantine. I was sick of buying candles that barely smelled. From the minute I opened the box, the fragrance was lingering. Not overpowering just a really beautiful smell. I bought Jackie’s favorite the Cyprus. A blend of the aromatic sweetness of lavender, the woody, crisp notes of pine needles, and the powerful aroma of cedar wood. It smells heavenly. Recently, I have been burning Rose and it is incredible.

Rigaud Paris candles are considered by many to be the finest, most elegant, and highest quality candles made in the world today. Each candle is hand-poured and inspected to insure a premium quality product. Rigaud candles burn evenly, without leaving any deposit on the glass and they do not tunnel, unlike hard wax candles. Click on the links below to see the products. All of the scents come in 3 sizes, small , medium and large and vary burning times. I have chose a sampling below.

This is the large rose candle. It has 90 hours of burning time!!!

This is the medium Gardenia. I want this scent next. The medium size burns for 60 hours.

If you want to sample a candle, I would recommend the small size with the wick cutter. This fragrance is Cythere. It consists of fruity notes reveal hints of jasmine, delicate and transparent, on a slightly musky backdrop. This candle has 23 hours of fragrance.

Here is the Reine de la Nuit candle. Reine de la Nuit (Queen of the Night) is a light and sensual fragrance created around a lavish and mysterious flower. A heady oriental scent like an evening melody.

Screen Shot 2021 05 25 at 8.15.41 AM

This scent is Jasmine Green Water. Part of Rigaud’s Single Flower Family, Jasmin has a fresh essence of bitter orange and jasmine petals mixed with the sweet, mellow warmth of the orange blossom. Ideal for spring and summer months.

Screen Shot 2021 05 25 at 8.15.16 AM

This is the Lilas Mauve. Lilas is a part of Rigaud’s Single Flower Fragrance Family which focus on a single flower whose fragrance stirs strong emotions, such as rose, jasmine, or lilac. This Lilas candle has all the delicacy of fresh springtime lilas, with touches of the green freshness of Lily of the Valley and a touch of powdered ylang-ylang.

Vesuve is part of Rigaud’s “Woody” fragrances which known for being both warm and elegant. All contain rare and precious essences such as amber and incense. Vesuve has notes of cedar, warm and spicy notes of cinnamon and cumin which bring personality to it’s scent.

I love the little black and white zebra “travel” candle…

The Rigaud fragrance diffuser is ideal for instantly creating a scented atmosphere in the house. Keep this a short distance from textiles such as drapes, cushions, curtains, rugs and carpets is enough to pleasingly scent them. It’s a simple way to give the entire room a pleasant fragrance. Very long-lasting in true Rigaud quality and style.

The Rigaud fragrance spray is ideal for instantly creating a scented atmosphere in the house. One press on the pump at a distance of about one meter from textiles such as drapes, cushions, curtains, rugs and carpets is enough to pleasingly scent them. It’s a simple way to give the entire room a pleasant fragrance.

I saved the best for last. This is Jackie’s and Halston’s favorite, Cypres. Cypres is a part of Rigaud’s Aromatic Fragrance Family which brings the freshness of the Mediterranean forests into your home. Introduced to the White House by Jacqueline Kennedy in 1960, this is a blend of lavender, the woody, crisp notes of pine needles, and the aroma of cedar wood. This fragrance is deceivingly mild–not at all overwhelming–but a lovely, elegant, fresh scent suitable for any room or occasion.

“A feel-good book guaranteed to lift your spirits.”—The Washington Post

A New York Times bestseller | Winner of the Goodreads Choice Award for Fiction | A Good Morning America Book Club Pick!

“Between life and death there is a library, and within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices . . . Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?”

A dazzling novel about all the choices that go into a life well lived, from the internationally bestselling author of Reasons to Stay Alive and How To Stop Time.

Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?

In The Midnight Library, Matt Haig’s enchanting new novel, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision. Faced with the possibility of changing her life for a new one, following a different career, undoing old breakups, realizing her dreams of becoming a glaciologist; she must search within herself as she travels through the Midnight Library to decide what is truly fulfilling in life, and what makes it worth living in the first place. – Amazon.com

Van Gogh Immersive Exhibit Is Coming To NYC

I love the series Emily In Paris. Everything about it was wonderful but there was one scene that really stood out for me. Emily, Gabriel, and Camille go to an Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit and they are literally surrounded by Van Gogh’s painting through incredible digital installations. I began researching this exhibit and saw it was traveling to many places but NY. I swore I would somehow get to one of the US exhibits…AND THEN….I got an email that it was coming it NYC!!!! It is opening on June 10 at an undisclosed location and you can buy your tickets HERE. I have included, at the end of this post, all the safety measures that have been implemented for this exhibit. If you can I would try to go!!!!

Step Inside Van Gogh

Immersive Van Gogh was created by the world-renowned master of digital art, Italy’s Massimiliano Siccardi, who for 30 years has been pioneering immersive exhibitions in Europe. His magnificent installations have been seen by over 2 million visitors in Paris.

Immersive Van Gogh has received rave reviews from critics worldwide. Let’s Throw A Virtual Party…

Social distancing due to COVID-19 has had an adverse impact on just about all areas of our lives. In the past, we would be able to get together with the people who matter the most to us to celebrate special events and travel. Now, most of our social interactions must take place virtually. What are a few examples of parties that used to take place in-person that are now taking place virtually? How can you turn these parties into a success? There are several virtual party tips that you should keep in mind to ensure the event is a success and everyone has a blast.

The Virtual Birthday Party

First, a lot of people have had to move their birthday parties to the virtual world. The days of having someone take the birthday boy or girl out to his or her favorite restaurant have been put on hold for a little while. For example, a lot of people are using Zoom to bring loved ones together to celebrate this special occasion.

When planning a virtual birthday party, it is important to think about what type of theme is going to be used. For example, there are lots of banners that people can deploy in the background of a video chat to make sure the birthday feels as special as possible. Then, it might even be possible to get a cake delivered to the birthday boy or girl! This is a way to bring the entire birthday party together. While it does take some pre-planning, it’s a surprise that is certainly worth it.

Pulling Off a Virtual Bachelor Party

Finally, there are lots of people who have had to change their wedding plans because of the pandemic. This includes bachelor parties. If you are looking for a way to pull off a bachelor party virtually, there are a few tips that you need to remember. First, make sure that you find a date and time that works for everyone. There are plenty of websites that can help you secure a date and time that works for all attendees.

Then, you can start planning the entertainment and details that you are going to include. For example, make sure you have a menu put together that everyone can follow. This might include booze, steaks, and party favors. Consider getting the attendees set up with food delivery, or even alcohol delivery the day-of. You might even want to bring in a virtual stripper to bring the entire party together! There are plenty of ways to pull off the perfect bachelor party even if it has to be virtual. Don’t let the lack of in-person interaction stop you from experiencing some of the best bachelor party entertainment available.

Think About Pulling Off a Virtual Party

When you think creatively, you’ll find there are many ways to host a fun and exciting virtual party that is far more than just sitting on a video chat. Even though this is not something that is going to last forever, the pandemic is still going to be with us for the near future. Therefore, everyone has to think about how they can still make a virtual party feel special. With the right platform, the right guests, and the right party staples, it is possible to make every virtual party a success. With this in mind, get a little creative and let the imagination run wild!

So we missed everything last year, all the glamorous distractions from the doldrums of everyday life that we were so fortunate to look forward to. The things that stick out the most in my mind are Broadway Previews, the Golden Globes, the Oscars, the Met Gala, The Tonys, Concerts, Sporting Events, and even the Olympics! And of course, Fashion Week…as Carrie Bradshaw so perfectly explained, “Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future. This is known as Fashion Week…” I received the most wonderful invitation last week and one that I am really excited about……Brown University Fashion week. The President of the Student Club, Fashion @Brown invited me and all of you (my sweet fashionistas!!!!) to their free virtual Fashion Week event. The lineup is so incredible. Re-imagined by student organization Fashion@Brown (F@B) as a virtual celebration this year, the impressive 22-day program of events is free and open to students and fashionistas around the globe and not limited to the Brown University community.

“We were astonished and humbled by the positive response we received to our invitations to speak at Brown Fashion Week this year,” states Sasha Pinto, president of the student organization, Fashion@Brown. “We wanted to make Brown Fashion Week bigger than ever to spread some much-needed inspiration to students given the extreme isolation everyone has been experiencing — and the fashion industry responded in overwhelming numbers. It is a tribute not only to the kindness and generosity of the individual speakers but to the industry in general.”

The Holiday’s are coming….Is it time for a Covid test?

Image Pixabay

As Thanksgiving and Christmas approach, there is so much apprehension about how and if we should spend these holidays with our family. College kids are coming home this coming week. Many of my friends tell me they plan on getting Covid tests for the family so they can see grandparents, friends, etc. Not to mention, the new NYS traveling guidelines for out of state visitors. In the past week, I have received text after text, asking where one can go for a covid test that is quick, safe, and reliable. Most of these “in and out” rapid tests are really unreliable. Right now we need a sensitive and specific test with the most reliable results especially since the number of Covid cases is spiking daily.

My dermatologist, Dr. Anetta Reszko is performing Covid-19 tests in her office at 266 Purchase Street in Rye. The test she administers will yield the most accurate results (no false positives or false negatives) and complete peace of mind. She is charging a fee of $75 (you can submit the invoice to your insurance) and you will get the results within 24 hours. I have been seeing Dr. Reszko regularly for many years and I trust her explicitly.

Dr. Reszko is taking appointments for the upcoming weekend and the days prior to Thanksgiving.  Her office would be pleased to schedule an appointment, just contact Dr. Rezsko’s office at 646 759 8449. Everyone in the office is also very well informed and can answer any questions or concerns that you may have.
