Last week Madonna celebrated the release of her forthcoming compilation album, FINALLY ENOUGH LOVE: 50 NUMBER ONES – arriving this Friday, August 19 – with a roller disco party at DiscOasis in Central Park, New York. Madonna and Nile Rodgers reunited for the event and spoke to the audience about making Like A Virgin together. Questlove served as DJ for the event, spinning Madonna hits & disco classics all night while guests danced and skated under the stars.
Guests enjoyed specialty Belvedere Vodka & Perrier cocktails like “THE QUEENS SPRITZ” & “THE MATERIAL GWORLLLLLLLL” named after Madonna’s recent hit remixes with Beyonce & Saucy Santana. Madonna was joined by friends and family, including Ariana Debose, Christian Siriano, Steven Klein, Jeremy O. Harris, and more.
The event occurred ahead and in support of FINALLY ENOUGH LOVE: 50 NUMBER ONES, Madonna’s 50-track career-spanning compilation album, releasing on Friday, August 19, 2022 in digital and physical format. The collection, curated by Madonna, is in celebration of her historic milestone as the first and only recording artist to have 50 #1 hits on any single Billboard chart when she topped the Dance Club Songs chart for the 50th time.
50 NUMBER ONES spans her entire dance club chart reign with dozens of remixes by the world’s top producers. In addition to fan favorites, the collection also includes a selection of rare remix recordings, with more than 20 being officially released for the first time or making their commercial/digital debut. There is a new immersive experience in NYC this week, just in time for Fashion Week. “Experience The Times of Bill Cunningham” is an exhibit to bring the photographers larger than life into focus. There are two levels at 16 Fulton Street that will celebrate Bill Cunningham’s life and work through a must-see immersive journey, chronicling growth as a documentarian, fashion historian, and culture-maker through a series of multi-sensory exhibits.
One of my favorite parts of the exhibit was seeing Bill’s trademark blue jacket and signature bicycle. For years working at Tiffany & Co., the best days were when we would see Bill Cunningham on the corner of 57th and 5th and watch him in action. The excitement around him was something you could not even imagine. His eye for street fashion was incredible and everyone wanted him to take their photo for the Sunday Style Section.

With NYC’s rooftop season here, on behalf of the Times Square Alliance, I wanted to share the news of recently opened and reopened rooftop spots to cool off and enjoy a birds-eye view of the Crossroads of the World, which is already welcoming back New Yorkers and visitors to the neighborhood this summer.
As one of the most Instagrammed destinations in the world, Times Square includes 19,551 hotel rooms which make up 16% of the City’s hotel rooms, which is over three times as many as the next highest concentrated area around Grand Central. On average, the Alliance is now seeing 180,000 daily pedestrians in Times Square, welcoming more New Yorkers and visitors back to the Crossroads of the World.
I love the series Emily In Paris. Everything about it was wonderful but there was one scene that really stood out for me. Emily, Gabriel, and Camille go to an Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit and they are literally surrounded by Van Gogh’s painting through incredible digital installations. I began researching this exhibit and saw it was traveling to many places but NY. I swore I would somehow get to one of the US exhibits…AND THEN….I got an email that it was coming it NYC!!!! It is opening on June 10 at an undisclosed location and you can buy your tickets HERE. I have included, at the end of this post, all the safety measures that have been implemented for this exhibit. If you can I would try to go!!!!
Immersive Van Gogh was created by the world-renowned master of digital art, Italy’s Massimiliano Siccardi, who for 30 years has been pioneering immersive exhibitions in Europe. His magnificent installations have been seen by over 2 million visitors in Paris.
With the help of 60,600 frames of video, 90,000,000 pixels, and 500,000+ cubic feet of projections, this captivating digital art exhibit merges state-of-the-art technology, theatrical storytelling, and world-class animation.
It gives guests the rare opportunity to “step inside” and experience the incredible post-Impressionist works of Van Gogh like never before. Immersive Van Gogh will be making its mark at a secret NYC location, to be announced soon.
Immersive Van Gogh has risen to blockbuster status. Immersive Van Gogh sold out its run in Toronto, has sold out and extended its run in Chicago, and is opening in San Francisco in March, where its first month is sold-out. The forthcoming May opening in Los Angeles saw over 80,000 timed-entry admissions sold in the first week of sales. Collectively, over half a million tickets have been sold.
Immersive Van Gogh has received rave reviews from critics worldwide. The Chicago Tribune wrote, “entire rooms pulse with imagery and emotional resonance.” The Toronto Sun declared, “the mind-blowing imagery, brings van Gogh’s best work to life — including Sunflower, Irises, and The Starry Night — for a cathartic and liberating experience”. “Immersive Van Gogh ups the emotional ante”, Debra Yeo of the Toronto Star stated, “I wondered: could projections of paintings on walls and floors be thrilling? The answer is ‘yes.’” Called a “completely new way of encountering art” by CTV and a “blockbuster digital experience that has taken the art world by storm” by Artnet News, the exhibit “cleverly embraces creativity,” according to Washington Post
For Your Safety While Visiting The Exhibit:
The Met re-opened for visitors on August 29th. My daughter and I went today and it is a dream. You have to purchase your tickets in advance on their WEBSITE and pick an entry time. Everyone must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth and your temperature is checked upon entry. Throughout the museum there are hand sanitizer stations and all the gallery walkways are re-directed to minimize crowds and keep everyone at a safe distance. I have been to the Met so many times, even after hours when I have been one of a handful of people walking the halls, however, today I saw things I have never seen before. With the blocking off of some corridors and rerouting guests, we explored rooms that I never knew existed. I really saw a whole new museum and since the crowds were maintained, I felt like we had the museum to ourselves. The volunteers all told us that this has been the best time for Museum guests to visit and really get to enjoy the museum like no other time in the Met’s history. I could not agree more. It was the most wonderful day. Here are some of the highlights from our visit…You have to go for yourself!!!!!!
