Easy Orange Chicken

I love this Easy Orange Chicken recipe.  I will increase the recipe and serve it with toothpicks and bring it to a Fourth of July party.  However, it is also great served over rice for dinner.  Either way, it is a total crowd pleaser!!!!

Easy Orange Chicken
adapted from Listotic

4 chicken breasts
3/4 cup bbq sauce
3/4 sweet orange marmalade
2 TBSP Soy Sauce

Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized chunks and cook in slow cooker for 1 1/2 hours on high (stir half way through)

While the chicken is cooking, mix together bbq sauce, marmalade, and soy sauce until well blended.

After 1 1/2 hours drain the chicken from the crock pot and pour the mixture in the crock pot with the chicken.  Make sure to well coat the chicken.  Cook on high for an additional 1 1/2 hour ( you may need to add time if the chicken needs to cook a little more).  The sauce might look runny but thickens ALOT while it cools.

Top with green onions and sesame seeds and serve!!!

The Low Down On Lashes

I love long lashes but I have never had luck with having false eyelashes applied.  I was so allergic to the glue that I found it so painful but I did love the look.  However, I am persistent and kept trying.  I recently found some options for lush, long lashes that you will LOVE.

I went to a salon (well a casual salon) to have mink eyelash extensions applied and it was a huge success.  The process is long but they seat you in a very comfy chair and it became painless.  Really…no allergic reaction and I love the result.  If you are local the salon is called Angel Tips and it is in Stamford, CT (it is a chain so there might be one near you, if you are out of the area).  And, you are in luck…there is a Groupon for almost $50 off the first application.  Click HERE for more information.

Maybe you don’t feel like sitting for an hour to have the eyelashes applied or the maintenance is too much for you (you need to have them refilled about every 3 weeks).  Well, I have the most incredible option for you…..One Two Cosmetics Magnetic Lashes.   I ordered these and they are really amazing.  I will admit, it takes some practice to get them just right.  I watched every youtube video out there, on this product, but they are super easy to apply (once you get the hang of it) and look really great.

Lastly, maybe false eyelashes are not for you….I get it!!!!   Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.  In my opinion, the best mascara to zoop up your natural lashes is, hands down, Benefit’s They’re Real Beyond Mascara (click HERE).

Book Club Monday

This week’s Book Club Monday is an awesome fun beach read.  It is The Assistants by Camille Perri.  I read that this book has been called “addictive”, “funny” and “smart”.  Here is the story:

Rule #1: All important men have assistants. Rule #2: Men rule the world. Still. Rule #3: There is enough money. There is so much money.

Tina Fontana is a thirty-year-old executive assistant to Robert Barlow, the CEO of Titan Corp., a multinational media conglomerate. She’s excellent at her job and beloved by her famous boss—but after six years of making reservations and pouring drinks from bottles that cost more than her rent, the glamour of working for a media company in New York has completely faded, but her student loan debt has not.

When a technical error with Robert’s expense report presents Tina with the opportunity to pay off the entire balance of her loans with what would essentially be pocket change for her boss, she hesitates. She’s always played by the rules, but this would be a life-changer. As Tina begins to fall down the rabbit hole of her morally questionable plan, other assistants with crushing debt and fewer scruples approach her to say that they want in. Before she knows it, she’s at the forefront of a movement that has implications far beyond what anyone anticipated.

Featuring an eclectic clan of coconspirators, a love interest far too handsome to be trusted, and a razor-sharp voice full of wry humor, The Assistants is a rallying cry for the leagues of overeducated and underpaid women who are asking themselves, How is it that after all these years, we are still assistants? – Amazon.com
