Fashionable Friend Friday

This week’s Fashionable Friend Friday is Marisa May.  I have know Marisa since she was a little girl and I am so in awe, as each year goes by, how more and more accomplished she becomes.  Marisa is restaurant royalty.  Her father Tony May is a master restauranteur, so Marisa has learned from the best.  She started as a little girl running around the Rainbow Room, where her father was the owner until 1986.  Marisa went on to NYU and then eventually came to work by her father’s side, first San Domenico and then SD26, both iconic NY restaurants.  Marissa and her father have recently sold SD26.  We are waiting to hear their next culinary move.  I for one CANNOT WAIT.  Here is Marisa, her father and some of their very well know regulars.  Yesterday was her birthday so Buon Compleanno Dolce Marisa!

Juice Plus

Wish List Wednesday

I just found the cutest company Pompomelo.  They have taken pom pom accessories to a new level.  Pompom embellishments have been popping up all over in the fashion world.  I love the look but do not know how to pull it off without looking like someone who belongs on an episode of Barney and Friends.  Then the other day I was reading the Post and Voila!!!  I found Pompomelo.  The necklaces and Bags are so chic.  They make you look like you just returned from the Amalfi Coast or the South of France. Happy Birthday Jackie!

Happy Birthday to one of the greatest fashion icons of our time, Jackie Kennedy Onassis.  She would have been 86 today.  Whether she was at a state dinner wearing Oleg Cassini or running around New York in her signature trench, white jeans and over sized sunglasses, she was one of the best dressed ladies around.  Here are some of her signature looks so we can all dress like Jackie!

Book Club Monday

I recently watched Diana a movie about the secret love affair between the princess and a Pakistani Heart Surgeon, Hasnet Khan.  The screen play is based upon the book Diana: Her Last Love by Kate Snell.  The story between Diana and Hasnet is really touching and it gives you another perspective, from what we have already seen, in the press, as to what the last couple of years of Diana’s life was like.  I cannot wait to start the book as I LOVED the film. Princess Diana died two weeks, to the day, before my wedding.  I will never forget it.  You can watch the movie HERE or buy the book HERE.

Saturday Real Estate Stalking

A very stylist friend who also has a knack for renovations and outstanding home decor recently renovated a gorgeous New York City apartment on Park Ave.  It has just been put on the market for rent.  This property was once three separate apartments that have since been joined into this 10 room, 4 bed, 4 bath home.  The building is called the Beekman and it was built in 1927, in the Italian Renaissance style. Woody Allen has an office in the Beekman and you can see him coming and going all week long!!  It is one of the premier, most prestigious buildings in Manhattan.  But, of course I am partial to this location, my parents had a small pied-à-terre here and it brings back many fun memories for me.  For more info on this listing click HERE
