Turks and Caicos

Last week I was lucky enough to travel to Turks and Caicos to visit Club Med coordinated by Cappy Devlin of CAPPY’S TRAVEL.   T&C is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world so, needless to say, I had always wanted to go there and dip my foot in the gorgeous turquoise water.  The sand is so white and pristine and conch shells can be found all over the beach.  Club Med, a french company, is an all inclusive resort so all you have to do is sit back, relax and let the GO’s (gentil organisateurs) take over and provide you with a fabulous time.  Below are some highlights of our trip.    Of course, I always have my readers on my mind so I brought back a souvenir for you, a one of a kind shell flower necklace.  All you have to do to enter this give a way is tell us in the comments below, what you consider the most wonderful get a away.  Good Luck!!!

Fashionable Friend Friday

This week’s Fashionable Friend Friday is celebrity chef and entertainer extraordinare, Lulu Powers.  I just love following her blog The Entertainologist.  She caters the chicest parties and gives the most wonderful tips whether it be a recipe, table setting or recap of one of her fabulous events.  Last week Lulu had me mesmerized with an candy bar she set up for a party using unique glass containers and nostalgic candies.  As Lulu says, “Everyone Loves A Candy Bar…Big or Small”…..Yummmmm!

Setting Up The Patio

Its that time of year again when outdoor entertaining takes center stage.  I really try to turn my patio into an outdoor living space or an extension of the interior decor but much more colorful.  I have chosen some fabulous accessories to create a chic outside.   The easiest most cost effective way to brighten up any space is to add colorful modern accessories.   New pillows, asian garden stools and bright glasses and plates go a long way.  Al Fresco dining has never been nicer!

Wish List Wednesday

I love tassel earrings.  They are appearing all over the magazines and fashion shoots.  I cannot decide if I like a metallic pair or a bright color.  Though, I do think turquoise would be a lovely choice for upcoming summer nights.  Tassel earrings have been in style forever.  If I get a pair I will definitely be channeling Lee Raziwell in the photo below!  LOVE HER LOOK!!!!

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!  Today we celebrate the traditions of Mexico and our LOVE for Mexican food.  I have been searching for a quick easy and healthy Guacamole recipe and I think I have found it.  Break out the chips!  Olé.

Ingredients

3 medium Avocados
1 firm tomatoes, finely diced
1/2 white onion, diced
1/2 cup chopped cilantro
2 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
optional sea salt and pepper to taste

  • Open the avocados and and scoop out the flesh
  • Mash the flesh with a fork
  • Stir in the other ingredients
  • If you store in the refrigerator, cover with plastic wrap.  TIP: Make sure the plastic touches the guacamole so that air does not come in contact with it (it will turn brown!).

Book Club Monday

This weeks Book Club Monday focuses on a different story, YOUR story.  Three friends Jill, Sally and  Lisa run the site Safekeeping Stories. It is a website that helps people author and share or keep private their personal story so it will be preserved for future generations.  The stories are based upon a three step model, Discover, Craft and Share.  All stories are important, especially if they are personal and evoke emotion.  The website is wonderful.  I love the stories they have showcased. You can visit the site HERE.

I just love this one:
