Last night I attended the opening of Tamara Mellon’s “pop up” shop in Southampton. It was such an amazing event. Tamara Mellon, this week’s Fashionable Friend Friday, is the former Co-Founder, and Creative Chief Officer of Jimmy Choo. I have always admired all the styles of the Jimmy Choo shoes and handbags. They remain a must have of fashionistas and red carpet walkers from coast to coast. I was so anxious to see her new Tamara Mellon line of clothing and accessories. The shop, which is located on Hill Street in Southampton, is full of chic ready to wear pieces, handbags, shoes and other accessories. We were fortunate enough to meet Tamara and her adorable daughter, Minty. They could not be more gorgeous, gracious and welcoming. Everyone in our group walked out with treasures, ranging from drop dead fringe skirts to luxury summer cashmere and mod sandals. Have you ever dreamed about owning your own Island? Well have I found the perfect spot for you! Tavern Island is located in Rowayton Ct. I really have never seen anything like this before. The Island contains a 6,000 square foot main house dating back from 1900, that has been completely renovated. There is a caretakers house, a boat house and a tea house on the property too!!! On a clear night you can see all the way to Manhattan from the properties’ 360 degree view. This house has a colorful history as well, one of the owners was Billy Rose, an showman impresario.
