The Camo Pieces That You Have Been Waiting For…..

After Wednesday’s post, when I wrote about adding a little bit of camo to your wardrobe, I received so many notes.  Everyone was so excited with this concept.  Most of the readers said that they always wanted something camo but were not sure how to wear it.  They were afraid they looked like they were about to go hunting!!!!!  Here are some of my favorite camo pieces that can easily transition into your existing wardrobe.  Bon Weekend!!!!

Back to School Crockpot Reeses Cake

My college senior is going back to school this weekend.  I’m really not ready to say goodbye yet!!  We are going to have a family send off dinner and I am going to make this awesome Crockpot cake for him.  It looks so easy and delicious!!

INGREDIENTS
box Devil’s Food Cake mix
package instant chocolate pudding
1 c. whole milk
eggs
1/4 c. sour cream
1/4 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
2 c. peanut butter chips
Cooking spray, for Crock-Pot
1/3 c. melted peanut butter, for garnish
10 mini Reese’s cups, halved
1/4 c. chopped Reese’s pieces

  1. In a large bowl, combine cake mix and pudding mix. Whisk to combine. Add milk, eggs, sour cream, peanut butter, vanilla and salt and mix until smooth. Fold in peanut butter chips.
  2. Grease the bowl of Crock-Pot with nonstick cooking spray. Add batter to Crock-Pot and smooth top with spatula. Cook on low for 3 1/2 to 4 hours checking at 3 hours to make sure the edges aren’t burning. Cake can be kept on warm for up to 4 hours before serving. The finished cake should be set on the sides and still gooey in the center.
  3. Drizzle with peanut butter and garnish with Reese’s cups and Reese’s Pieces Serve.

Incorporating Camo in Your Wardrobe……

One of my favorite purchases last year was a camouflage button up jacket with a bow brooch at the top.  It is by Veronica Beard and I usually wore it with flared black pants and leopard flats (I love mixing the patterns!!!!!).  I received a few messages lately asking me how to incorporate camo in an everyday wardrobe.  Here are some of my favorite looks.  On Friday, I am going to have a shopping guide for you so you can add some of your own camo pieces.

This is the jacket that I own:

Book Club Monday

I love love when I get feedback from my readers.  Whether it be an email telling me that they bought something I posted or a photo of a recipe from the blog or a recommendation.  I LOVE recommendations!!!  A reader sent me an email telling me that this week’s book club choice, The Chain by Adrian McKinty is “THE summer read”.  It’s is a little more intense than I usually read but it sounds soooo good…here is the summary:

YOUR PHONE RINGS.

A STRANGER HAS KIDNAPPED YOUR CHILD.

TO FREE THEM YOU MUST ABDUCT SOMEONE ELSE’S CHILD.

YOUR CHILD WILL BE RELEASED WHEN YOUR VICTIM’S PARENTS KIDNAP ANOTHER CHILD.

IF ANY OF THESE THINGS DON’T HAPPEN:
YOUR CHILD WILL BE KILLED.

YOU ARE NOW PART OF THE CHAIN
