Hillary Can You Hear Me

This is
probably the first and last time I will ever post something on this
political campaign but I think it has to be said.  Please don’t hate, I
respect Hillary Clinton for the message she is sending to the women and
youth of this country.  HOWEVER, please please Hillary, if you can hear
me lets get this party started.  I think her choice of outfits for the
DNC were pretty poor.  For some of the most important nights of her
career I thought she would want to hit it out of the park.  She
certainly has the $$$.  So what the problem?  Even Milania dialed up Net A Porter,
where you can get anything on their site delivered to you within 2
hours for $25.  This really happens, I’ve done it myself!!!!  I know, I
know, there are so many more issues at hand here than the fashions of
the candidates but that’s what I do and I feel like maybe I can help a
sister out.  Hillary, if you can hear me, here are some suggestions,
remember, “Dress shabbily and they remember the dress, dress impeccably
and they remember the woman” – Coco Chanel!!  Bon Weekend!!!

Dorm Decor

The reality is setting in, in less than a month, I will be dropping my son off at college.  He is my oldest and leaving behind 2 sisters.  Our house is about to become even more girly (which is hard to believe).  I want his dorm room to remind him of home but not be too “done”.  I have been searching online for some of the most perfect things to send him off with.  Here are some of my favorite finds…I think he is off to a really good start!!!!

Pasquale Jones

I have been reading about one of the hottest restaurants in NYC, Pasquale Jones since the spring.  Gwyneth listed it as one of her must try new restaurants and Jessica Seinfeld is posting non stop about the delicious food.  Pasquale Jones, a squeal to the excellent Charlie Bird NYC,  is a no tipping, no telephone restaurant that only accepts a very few reservations via its website and walk ins.  It is located in the heart of Little Italy on Mulberry St.  If you are not lucky enough to secure an online reservation there might be quite a wait.  However, the food is incredible.  The menu is compact but everything is outstanding from the impressive wine list to the thin crust pizzas to the savory entrees.  I have to agree with all the celebs and magazine editors, Pasquale Jones is a huge hit!!!!!  For more information, click HERE.

Book Club Monday

I started reading a book that I cannot put down.  The Hopefuls, A Novel, by Jennifer Close is so great and perfect for some light summer beach reading.  The story goes like this:

A brilliantly funny novel about ambition and marriage from the best-selling author of Girls in White Dresses, The Hopefuls tells
the story of a young wife who follows her husband and his political
dreams to Washington, D.C., a city of idealism, gossip, and complicated
friendships among the young aspiring elite.

When Beth arrives
in D.C., she hates everything about it: the confusing traffic circles,
the ubiquitous Ann Taylor suits, the humidity that descends each summer.
At dinner parties, guests compare their security clearance levels. They
leave their BlackBerrys on the table. They speak in acronyms. And once
they realize Beth doesn’t work in politics, they smile blandly and turn
away. Soon Beth and her husband, Matt, meet a charismatic White House
staffer named Jimmy, and his wife, Ashleigh, and the four become
inseparable, coordinating brunches, birthdays, and long weekends away.
But as Jimmy’s star rises higher and higher, the couples’ friendship—and
Beth’s relationship with Matt—is threatened by jealousy, competition,
and rumors. A glorious send-up of young D.C. and a blazingly honest
portrait of a marriage, this is the finest work yet by one of our most
beloved writers.  Summary Amazon.com
