Bond 45

One of my all time favorite GO TO New York restaurants, Bond 45 was closed for over a year to relocate and renovate.  It is a theater district favorite and a hangout of Broadway actors, producers, creators and theater makers .  The food is consistently incredible and the location truly amazing, because it is convenient to all shows!!  I cannot not tell you how many times I’d stop into Bond 45 pre theater or just meet a friend for a yummy dinner or to grab a quick bite with my kids.  It is consistently good, the workers are so kind and they have you in and out with plenty of time for your show.  I kid you not..I was lost without it.  UNTIL!!!!!!  TODAY!!!!!  Bond 45 re-opened today in its new location 221 W 46th.  It’s the same awesome menu and close proximity to parking BUT it is completely renovated.  The broadway set designer of Hamilton, David Korins has completely designed the new space and it is suppose to be incredible.  Plus they promise to still give you their famous chocolate peanut brittle to take with you as you are walking out the door.  So if you are looking for me from now on..I will happily be back at Bond 45!!!!  Bon Appetit!!!!

Weekend Real Estate Stalking

A few years ago, one of my closest friends, Leeann Leahy moved to Maine.  Let me explain the depth of this situation….this is a person I never lived more that a few miles from from the age of 11/12.  All throughout middle school, high school, college, New York City living, and then married life.  Can you imagine that…always in the same state for over 30 years???!!!!????  Then one day she gets this incredible job offer, and decides to move miles and hours away…Maine?  Really?  WAIT???? REALLY?   Well after my extreme sadness took over, amazing things started to happen for her.  And, I really could not be sad anymore…Just PROUD!!!!  She became CEO of that company that moved her.  Tons of amazing articles were written about her, like this one HERE, and FINALLY the beautiful house that she painstaking renovated was published in a magazine last week.  I HAD to share it with you!!  Way to go Leona!!!!

Fashionable Friend Friday

Last week I met this week’s Fashionable Friend Friday, Dr Gregory Brown, a Harvard trained plastic and reconstructive surgeon.   Dr Brown believes that women look their best when they have the glow of healthy and youthful skin.  This led him to merge his three dimensional understanding of the skin with Nobel Prize winning science to create his skin care line ReVive.  ReVive is the only skin care line created by a plastic surgeon and it is INCREDIBLE.  I was invited to the beautiful White Plains Neiman Marcus store to experience the ReVive facial for myself.  I was so impressed with all of Dr. Brown’s products and was so delighted to be able to sit down with him and talk skin care.  I swear my skin was glowing for days after the treatment.  I am so happy to share the products with you….Bon Weekend!!

This is the one product Dr. Brown recommends as a MUST HAVE!!  This cream has a cult following…It is a retexturizing hydrator night cream that gently exfoliates, renews and moisturizes facial skin.  To purchase click HERE.
This was the product I LOVED the most Le Polish.  This one step transformative treatment helps erase the signs of time, leaving skin with a luxurious glow. Ultra-fine Aluminum Oxide Crystals instantly refine, polish and smooth the surface of your skin, polishing it to perfection while the infusion of Green Tea and Shea Butter calms and nourishes. The resurfacing process exfoliates the skin, resulting in smoother, softer skin that’s optimized for your next skincare step. You’ll see visible results after your very first treatment.  To Purchase click HERE.

Sono Baking

Last week I went to an amazing farm to table lunch at the Sono Baking Company in Norwalk with my friends at MaxEx PR.   You have to check out this bakery.  The sweets, and breakfast pastries were incredible and we tried ALOT!!!  The soups and salads and paninis are out of this world.  There are two locations, one in Norwalk and one in Darien.  They also have an extensive catering menu…I know where I am getting food for my next event!!!!  They served us the most incredible skirt steak with sautéed leaks.  I had to share the recipe with you.  What a delicious meal this would make for my family and yours too!!!!  Bon Appetit!!!!

Grilled Skirt Steak
Hangar and Flank Steak would work also

Rub both sides of steak with olive oil.  Salt and Pepper to taste
Grill to desired doneness.  Remove from heat and let rest.  Cut in thin slices

Sauteed Leeks
Cut leeks into 1/4″ pieces.  Wash and drain
Saute in 2Tbsp each butter and olive oil  Salt and pepper to taste

As you can see, both were very simple recipes that let the food shine.

Turandot

I am working on a special project with one of our incredible jewelry sponsors and the Metropolitan Opera for the 50th anniversary of the Opera house!   We are excited to be able to arrange a BLOG OUTING to see Puccini’s incredible last opera Turandot, the grand spectacle of China, on October 21st at 8pm.  Tickets are extremely limited.  They are $120 for fabulous Orchestra seats. Email me HERE to be included in this very special night.  In case you do not know the incredible story here it is…

The opera’s version of the story is set in China and involves Prince Calaf, who falls in love with the ice cold Princess Turandot. To obtain permission to marry her, a suitor has to solve three riddles; any wrong answer results in death. Calaf passes the test, but Turandot still refuses to marry him. He offers her a way out: if she is able to learn his name before dawn the next day, then at daybreak he will die. In the original story by Nizami, the princess sets four conditions. The first is “a good name and good deeds”, and then the three challenges.

Fall Planters

I am starting to think of fall decor, inside and out.  I want to do something different with my planters.  I love the look of all of the arrangements below……especially the ones with the pumpkins.  I would love to incorporate a pumpkin or two in my outdoor planters.  A trick I heard that makes pumpkins last longer (and keeps the squirrels away) is to spray them with a clear varnish like this.  Happy Planting!!!
