The J House Greenwich is thrilled to celebrate its 10^th anniversary this year. After a decade of service as one of the most luxurious boutique hotels in Fairfield County, Connecticut, The J House is commemorating its success with new renovations slated for this year. These renovations will further enhance the existing hip vibe at The J House as a destination offering a contemporary and unique lifestyle experience. 

Over the past decade, The J House has been a hotel of choice for some of the most distinguished travelers visiting the tri-state region. It remains the cool place to be seen, and it has welcomed countless celebrities and high-profile executives who relish its unique hip, fun vibe. The staff at The J House puts together some of the grandest events and celebrations in the region – including everything from weddings and anniversaries to corporate meetings and conferences, art events, and social get-togethers. The J House is also well known for its romance packages, girlfriend weekends, and staycations.

The renovations that began last year will continue throughout the hotel, including guestrooms, suites, and public spaces. All of the suites, including The Ambassador Suite, are receiving a fresh new look. Each of the hotel’s 83 high-tech guestrooms and suites will receive brand new luxury vinyl flooring, new furniture, new TVs, and mini-refrigerators. Hallways will receive new carpeting, and The Ambassador Suite’s expansive outdoor deck will also receive new furniture. One of their beautiful event spaces, known as The Riverside Room, will be completely transformed this summer with a fresh look that includes hardwood flooring and a sustainable green wall. Tony’s patio bar and waterfall will be enhanced with marble and new lighting. In total, these renovations will cost approximately $1,000,000.  

The renovations will further enhance the already existing boutique hotel experience that The J House offers its guests. The hotel offers fine dining via Tony’s restaurant, the “world-class” J Spa, exquisite banquet rooms, and attentive service that has set The J House apart from other hotels over the years. The hotel features a stunning outdoor seasonal heated pool with an expansive pool deck and cabana. It is also pet friendly and provides welcome gifts to its furry friends upon arrival.

•  The J House will add convenient charging stations for guests driving electronic vehicles.

•  A luxury global real estate brokerage firm made The J House their home. At the nexus of technology and media, NestSeekers specializes in ultra-luxury and new development. 
• Tony’s at The J House (2019)
• Executive Chef Denis Radovic’s Italian Steakhouse menu presents homemade pasta, market fresh fish, prime dry-aged steaks, vibrant salads, seasonal specialties, and a revolving cheese selection. The wine list is expansive. In the summer of 2020, Tony’s at The J House partnered with “Miku” and serves fresh sushi daily. Managing Partner, Tony Capasso, keeps guests entertained with his lively personality and trivia. The restaurant’s patio also features a retractable roof – keeping it the perfect setting for any season.  
• The J Spa (2015)

• DIY Bath Bomb: Baths are a great form of self-care and relaxation. Next time you’re looking to relax, try making this easy bath bomb! Mix baking soda, citric acid, coconut oil, your favorite essential oil, and coloring. Once mixed evenly, place the mixture into an empty ice cube tray and allow it to sit together to dry. Once hardened, pop the bath bomb out of the tray, place into bath water, and relax!
• Make Your Own Moisturizer: Add aloe vera gel, almond oil, lavender essential oil, and cedarwood essential oil into a mixing bowl and mix until evenly spread. Place the mixture into a container with a lid to store, and you’re all set! 
• Honey & Brown Sugar Exfoliator: Struggling with dry, cracked skin? Try this easy-to-make honey exfoliator! Simply mix brown sugar, honey, and coconut oil together in a bowl. Once evenly mixed, scoop out the mixture and rub it onto your dry skin. Rinse off and done! Your skin will be left feeling soft and smooth.

According to the ASPCA, 23 million households in America welcomed a new pet into their pack during the pandemic. People have been using their backyards more in recent years for everything from working and entertaining to vacationing and working out. But for dogs, this backyard business is old hat. 

“No one loves the family yard as much as the family dog,” notes Kris Kiser, President of the TurfMutt Foundation, an organization that advocates for the care for and use of green spaces, as well as pet rescue. “It’s my rescue dog, Mulligan’s, favorite place to be, so I do everything I can to make it safe and enjoyable for her, which ultimately makes it better for me, too.”

Plant Real Grass
Plastic grass is uncomfortable on paws (and bare feet), gets very hot during the summer, is difficult to clean, and is worse for the environment since it requires water for cleaning and usually can’t be recycled. The bottom line: real grass is the best option for pets, people and the environment. 

Select the Right Plants & Grasses 
Choose a type of turf grass that will withstand the “ruff” housing of your pet. Buffalo and Bermuda grasses can be a good choice, depending on your climate zone. For other plants and shrubs, check the ASPCA’s list of toxic and non-toxic garden plants for advice before planting. You’ll want soft, sturdy foliage near walkways. Save delicate, decorative flowers for elevated flowerbeds and patio pots. Pro tip: place plants close together in areas you want to designate as off-limits to your dog to create boundaries.  
 
Consider Pollinators & Other Wildlife 
Nature starts in your backyard, which provides habitat and food for birds, butterflies, bees and more. Each of these species help pollinate food crops and flowering plants, so take them into consideration, too, when you’re selecting plants for your backyard.
 
Plan for Fun  
Add a splash pool, build a sandbox for digging or even create a canine obstacle course to provide hours of fun. After a day of play, your dog will need a place to relax so think of where you can plant trees or bushes that provide shade for snoozing.
