Kykuit, the Rockefeller Esate will be open for guided tours Saturday-Sunday, May 21-September 30; Wednesday-Monday, October 1-November 13. You can walk the halls and the grounds of this majestic estate.
Built between 1906 and 1913, Kykuit was home to four generations of the Rockefeller family. The estate’s modern and classical art collection, architecture, and expansive gardens make it one of the top-rated cultural attractions in New York State. Visitors learn the story of the Rockefellers, beginning with John D. Rockefeller, founder of Standard Oil, whose business acumen made him the richest man in America in his day. He later became the country’s first significant philanthropist and by his death in 1937, he had given away more than half his fortune through various philanthropic programs.

I recently sat down with Master Injector, Gina Vignogna-Khan from Core Nutrition and Wellness. I had collected all of your questions about Botox and other injectables and decided to have Gina answer them all at once. I spent a long time with Gina and asked her to do my next round of injectables. I schedule my appointments usually about 4-6 months apart and I keep my treatment to a minimal amount of injections but Gina is amazing and I had very little pain and no bruising. The key to getting any type of injection is the injector. You need someone who listens to you, understands what you need and of course, administers a painless perfectly targeted shot. I highly recommend Gina. I was so impressed with her knowledge, and bedside manner. You can email her HERE with any of your questions or to get more information about scheduling an appointment.
Injections in the face can include neurotoxins such as Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, Juveau etc. They block signals from nerves that cause muscles to contract. The relaxation of these muscles can prevent wrinkles from forming and becoming deeper. Other injections in the face can include dermal fillers such as hyaluronic acid, CAHA, or PLLA particles. These fillers and bio stimulatory agents can not only add volume back to sagging tissues giving the appearance of a more youthful look but some of them are also bio stimulatory. Biostimulation means they stimulate your body to make more collagen and elastin where the product is injected.
As with any medical procedure, there are always chances of side effects. The most common include bruising and swelling at the site of injection. Less common side effects include infection or allergic reaction. Those that are allergic to Lidocaine should avoid fillers in the face. Those that are on blood thinning agents should also avoid aesthetic procedures. Avoiding blood-thinning medications such as Motrin, Advil, and Aspirin a few days before the procedure can help minimize any bleeding or bruising.
Depending on what treatment you get can alter the recovery expectations. Neurotoxins have you back to your normal routine in 24 hours with minimal post-procedure care. No intense exercise or doing anything that will make your face get hot and sweaty is a good one to remember. No massage or manipulation to the area where you were injected for the first 24 hours can prevent the neuromodulator from moving around. With dermal fillers you may experience some swelling for a few days after the treatment and waiting the full two weeks for them to integrate with your own body’s tissues is best before evaluating the full result. Everyone is different and some people will have no swelling on day one while others can have swelling for a week or two. Taking Arnica supplements is a good supplement if you tend to bruise or swell more than others.
Neuromodulator results usually take two weeks. Some have reported that Dysport can show results within 4-5 days. Fillers have an immediate result taking into consideration that there may also be some swelling present for a few days.
Neuromodulators usually last about 3-4 months. Dermal fillers usually last anywhere from 8 months to 1.5 years depending on where you get them and what kind.
Each patient has an individualized plan that will determine the exact amount and number of treatments needed.
Generally speaking, the treatments are quick and easy but the pain is subjective and everyone has a different threshold. The needles used are very small but if someone needs numbing cream to avoid the pain I am more than happy to provide that.
According to what patients report, the lips seem to be the most sensitive. If you are getting a lip flip or lip filler make sure to come in 15 mins early to sit with some numbing cream!
The difference between brands can be individualized based on what you want or would like to achieve. Each injector also has certain preferences on what they feel works best in each area. Xeomin is the most natural form of a neuromodulator because it has no added proteins, therefore, enabling your body to build the least resistance with each use. Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, Versa, RHA, and Belotero, are just a few of the great filler products I like to use.
Today I attended the 40th Annual Frederick Law Olmsted Awards Luncheon benefitting The Central Park Conservancy. The luncheon is the signature event of the Women’s Committee and is the premier luncheon in New York City. This invitation-only event raises over $4 million and honors some of the Park’s biggest supporters.
And it was fabulous….the hats were beyond, the dresses were out of this world and the attendees were amazing. I spent most of the afternoon catching up with so many friends that I had lost touch with since the Pandemic. There is honestly no other event quite like it. It is one of the most successful fundraising events in the country.
Here are some great photos from a great afternoon!!!!

There are many benefits to visiting a day spa. People can relax, de-stress, and rejuvenate their bodies and minds. Day spas often offer a variety of services such as massages, facials, hair services, and more. Some people believe that day spas are more beneficial than traditional salons because they provide more individualized treatments. Here are the most popular benefits of visiting day spas.
Reduce stress
Spas offer a variety of services that can help you reduce stress and tension. Some of the features offered include massage, hydrotherapy, and aromatherapy. Massage is one of the most popular services because it helps to improve circulation and reduce stress. Hydrotherapy uses water to help improve circulation and relieve pain. Aromatherapy uses essential oils to promote relaxation and relieve stress.
Relax muscle
Massage therapies have been used for centuries to help relax the body. Today, you can enjoy the benefits of massage therapy at a day spa. Day spas offer a variety of massages, each with its own unique set of benefits. Swedish massage, for example, is a popular choice that uses long strokes to help relieve tension and stress. Other massages, such as deep tissue massage and hot stone massage, are designed to target specific areas of tension in the body.
Benefits of massage therapy include relief from tension headaches, improved circulation, and reduced stress levels. Massage also helps to loosen tight muscles and improve flexibility. In addition, massage can promote relaxation and peace of mind, which can be especially beneficial for those who lead stressful lives.
Improve circulation
Massage therapy which is offered in most of the spas has many benefits, including improving circulation. Improved circulation can help improve your overall health by bringing more oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and organs. This can help keep you healthy and functioning at your best. Additionally, massage therapy can help relieve tension and stress, which can also improve your overall health.
Detoxify the body
Detox baths are spa treatments that can help remove toxins from your body. The baths use ingredients like Epsom salts and baking soda, which help to open up your pores and draw out the toxins. The baths can also help to improve circulation and reduce inflammation.
Improve skin health
Spa treatments are a great way to improve the health and appearance of your skin. Facials, in particular, can help cleanse and exfoliate your skin, removing any impurities and leaving you with a radiant complexion. Additionally, facials can help improve circulation and promote collagen production, leading to firmer and more youthful-looking skin.
Good for your nail health
Nail health is an important part of overall health, and regular spa treatments can help improve the condition of your nails. Manicures and pedicures can help remove dead skin cells and debris from around the nail plate, as well as soften cuticles and stimulate blood circulation. This can help keep nails healthy and strong, and can also help reduce the risk of infection.
Conclusion
In conclusion, a day spa can provide a variety of health and wellness benefits. If you are looking for a way to feel refreshed and rejuvenated, consider scheduling a visit to a day spa.
