Southampton Inn Memorial Weekend BBQ

To kick off the Hamptons Summer Season, the award-winning Southampton Inn will host their Memorial Weekend BBQ. Everyone is welcome to celebrate the holiday on the pool patio, which is surrounded by five acres of manicured lawns and private gardens. There will be live music, croquet, and stunning red, white, and blue decor. The BBQ is complimentary for Inn guests, and the price for those stopping by for the BBQ is $40 per adult and $25 per child under the age of 12. Southampton Inn’s Claude’s Restaurant will be serving a buffet of signature burgers and grilled chicken, fresh salads, and delectable treats. A cash bar on the pool patio serves the best margaritas and chilled refreshments for sipping in the sun. Enjoy a live musical performance by Philip Gotthelf from Electric Circus from Days of Old, and more recently Tappan Hill. Memorial Day weekend still has limited overnight rooms availability (and includes BBQ, live music, and scavenger hunt). In the event of inclement weather, the BBQ and festivities will be held inside the Inn’s ballroom. Join the Southampton Inn for what will be a fun-filled day. The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) will kick off their week-long Step Up To Turn Cancer Off virtual fundraising event on Monday, June 6th, 2022. Step Up To Turn Cancer Off is a new event where participants keep track of their physical activities in order to reach their daily “step” goal.  An easy-to-use online tool will convert nearly any activity such as walking, running swimming, dancing, yoga, gardening etc. into steps. Entrants can register individually or as a team and then share progress with peers and family to garner donations. The week-long challenge runs from Monday, June 6th through Sunday, June 12th, 2022. Demarchelier Bistro’s walls are lined with Eric’s work where the new paintings will be exhibited starting Saturday, June 25th, 2022. The exciting new exhibit is a tribute to his late brother and photographer, Patrick Demarchelier. Eric’s recent collection of paintings are based on Patrick’s photographs which will be displayed side by side. The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center will host their 14th Annual Get Wild Benefit! at Swans Crossing in Southampton Village. This year’s benefit will honor Bridget Fleming and Karen Johnston, DVM, and celebrate the center’s continuous efforts to rehabilitate and successfully release animals back into the wild across Eastern Long Island. Guests will enjoy live music along with cocktails and light fare, and a silent auction. All guests are welcome to the cocktail party featuring appearances from some of the hawks and owls the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center has rehabilitated that are non-releasable and now reside at the Center. The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) will host one of the most anticipated Hamptons events of the year, the 18th annual Hamptons Happening. Held on the beautiful Bridgehampton Estate of Kenneth and Maria Fishel, guests will raise critical funds for collaborative cancer research while enjoying a night of delicious tastings from dozens of chefs, restaurants, and beverage companies. This year’s honorees include Bess Freedman (CEO Brown Harris Stevens), Chef Julian Medina (Chef & Owner Toloache, Tacuba, Coppelia, Kuxe, La Chula & El Fish Shack), and Mark Melchiorre (Executive Managing Director CIO & Head of Brean Investment Group). Through events like Hamptons Happening SWCRF has invested more than $100 million towards cancer research, supporting hundreds of investigators around the world, leading to breakthrough treatments and discoveries. The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation’s 13th Annual Unconditional Love Gala is returning to the Hamptons. The event will take place on Saturday, July 16, 2022, under the tents on Gin Lane in Southampton, NY. The annual event has been the most important fundraiser for the shelter for over a decade. The fun-filled gala will feature cocktails and a delicious, seated dinner, as well as dancing. In addition, a live and silent auction will help raise much-needed funds for the animals. This year’s Gala, chaired by Jean Shafiroff, will honor Mr. William Bratton, former New York City Police Commissioner and Mr. Jonathan McCann, founding President of SASF.  Jean Shafiroff is hosting a private kickoff party for the gala at the Southampton History Museum on Friday, May 27, 2022.

Proceeds from this event directly support the more than 1,500 animals who enter the Shelter’s doors each year. The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is supported exclusively by donations and grants from the community. From caring and finding homes for stray and abandoned animals to providing low-cost veterinary care and dog training so that animals can remain in their homes, the shelter has become a vital resource in the community. Previous notable attendees include actor Stephen Baldwin, singer/songwriter Maxwell, and TV personality Greg Kelly.

Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s

64th Annual Summer Party

The Hamptons longest running fundraiser, the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Annual Summer Party, will continue in its ‘Gala in Your Garden’ format for one more year.  Guests purchasing a table for ten guests will ‘host at home’, with everything they need for a wonderful dinner party delivered to their door.  Elegant Affairs will provide a delicious three course meal, event sponsor Wölffer Estate Vineyards will be responsible for the wine selection and floral décor will accompany the delivery. Tables at different price points will include customized menus, waiters, chefs, handmade cocktails and more.  All guests will be invited to ‘come together’ on Zoom for a virtual toast. All proceeds from the event will support the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Emergency Department and the new East Hampton Emergency Department, due to open in 2023.

The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) will host Kids Cancel Cancer, their first ever kid-created and kid-focused fundraising event at The Club House in East Hampton, NY. It is estimated that 10,500 new cases of cancer will be diagnosed among children aged birth to 14 years each year, with approximately 1,190 children expected to die as a result of the disease. Moreover, despite a 65% decrease in childhood cancer deaths over the last few decades, cancer remains a leading cause of death for children. The Kids Cancel Cancer fundraiser will be a fun day of arcades, miniature golf, great food, raffle prizes, and more – all for a great cause – raising money to cure pediatric cancers through cutting-edge research.
