I recently spent some time in the Rye location of Walin and Wolff. I loved the store. The merchandise, mostly upscale accessories, is so wonderfully displayed and the selection superb. Here were some of my favorite picks for Holiday gifts. To visit the Walin and Wolff website or to find a location near you (don’t forget the importance of shopping local!!!!!!), click HERE,
Today is Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday. I really do not think there is another singer that has been admired by generation after generation. Everyone LOVES Frank. I was fortunate to see him in person 3 times. Once with my parents and my BFF, JB at Carnegie Hall when we were in high school and twice at Radio City Music Hall, once happened to be on the night that his dear friend Richard Nixon past away and he had to reschedule!!! I have to say Mr. Sinatra was an amazing entertainer. Everyone I know has their favorite song by Ole Blue Eyes. About a year ago his gorgeous home in Palm Springs sold. It was featured on Mad Men and Marlyn Monroe was said to have rented out the guest house there. You have to check it out…in the meanwhile, I have included ONE of my favorite songs (though I love them all, its hard to choose one). Happy Birthday to one of the GREATEST!!!!!!!
I read many many blogs for inspiration. But one in particular, I have really been enjoying this past fall. One of the sweetest girls I know, Molly, went on her junior year abroad to Florence. This is in itself a huge accomplishment. You have to apply and these days, EVERYONE wants to go abroad during their junior year, so it is soooo competitive. Molly was of course accepted into the Syracuse program and off she went to Florence. She started the most adorable blog chronologizing her time abroad and her fabulous adventures. I loved reading every entree from her first days staying with “Nonna” to her descriptive account of visiting Rome, and how she felt her grandmother with her in the Sistine chapel and her detailed account of beautiful Positano. Molly, your writing is incredible, I felt like I was travelling with you and your words and insights were so wonderful and well chosen. Thank you for allowing us into your semester abroad. And, welcome home!!!! We missed you!!!! Please check out Molly’s blog HERE. You will love it!!!!! Grazie Mille, Molly!!!!!!
