The Eden Roc

The Eden Roc in Miami is one of my favorite hotels.  It is rich in both glamour and history.  In it’s heyday, the Eden Roc attracted glamorous stars such as Elizabeth Taylor, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Junior, Ernest Hemingway, Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Katherine Hepburn and so many more.  It was designed by architect Morris Lapidus in the 1950’s to resemble a Hollywood stage set with its theatrical architecture elements.  The Eden Roc was known as the “Grande Dame of Miami Beach”.  This historical hotel has been so wonderfully renovated with the lobby’s original fixtures and staircase.  Just walking into the Eden Roc you can picture all of the Hollywood stars mingling about.  Most recently, chef Nobu has joined Eden Roc to open his Michelin star dining experience in Miami.  There are also plans to open a Nobu Hotel inside the Eden Roc hotel, which promises to be spectacular.  I have added this to my bucket list…stay tuned!!!

Bellissima High Fashion in Italy 1945-1968

My daughter and I went to see the Bellissima High Fashion in Italy 1945-1968 exhibit sponsored by Bulgari Roma.  The only United States presentation will be at the NSU Art Museum in Ft Lauderdale until June of this year.  The exhibit highlights 90 dresses, gowns, suits, coats from such designers as Valentino, Fendi, Gucci, Ferragamo, Pucci and many more.  There are also incredible one of a kind Bulgari Heritage Collection jewels including the iconic Serpenti collection (my favorite).  To learn more about this special exhibit click HERE.

Easter Weekend on Miami Beach

Here are some scenes from Easter Weekend on Miami Beach!!!!  NO better place to wait for the Easter Bunny!!!!  Hoppy trails to you!!!!!  XO

Miami Style

One of my favorite places to visit is Miami.  The city is full of so much culture, art and high fashion.  The people watching is the best anywhere and the personal style is above all else.  I saw the most fashionable woman enjoying the city in the coolest outfit.  It was perfect for the warm climate and would take you well into the humid summer nights.  She had her hair in a high ponytail and I tried to recreate her outfit for you, below, of a feminine lace shift dress, wedge sandals, gold clutch and statement gold earrings.  Her look was on fleek!!!!  Bon Weekend!!!

The Matador Room

While on Spring Break, I met my bestie Leeann in Miami for a GNO overnight.  We had the greatest time together!!!  We drove around the city, shopped, stayed up wayyyyy too late catching up and really enjoyed all that Miami has to offer!!!   We choose the Matador Room, Jean Georges Vongerichten’s glamorous restaurant with decor reminiscent of 1940 and 50’s supper clubs for dinner.  The menu is Jean Georges’ take on Caribbean, Spanish, Latin and South American cuisines.  We enjoyed sharing quite a few dishes and our love for Miami and Jean Georges grew with each bite.  If you are visiting the South Florida area, The Matador room is a MUST!!!!!
