Weekend Real Estate Stalking

I am not much of Skier anymore but much more of an Apres Skier now!!!!!  I have come to hate, hate extreme weather conditions.  But I love the snow…I love the look of it…the feeling of sitting and watching it from the window….there is nothing more calming to me than watching a snow storm.  The dream of a ski house rarely crossed my mind…UNTIL…I saw Aerin Lauder’s gorgeous Aspen home a few years back.  Every winter, I think of that fabulous space.  When it started snowing this afternoon, I just knew where I wanted to take you……join me at Aerin’s!!!!!!

Dear Evan Hansen

Not since Hamilton has there been so much hype for a broadway show.  Dear Evan Hansen, a beautiful coming of age story about a high school senior struggling to connect and find his place,  received the award for Best Musical! It stars Ben Platt, of Pitch Perfect!!!..Here is the story:

At its core, it is a story about families; how we love one another, how we fail one another, and ultimately how we must cherish one another.  It is also a very funny and moving portrait of young love, friendship and the relationships we forge with our chosen and actual families.

A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. Both deeply personal and profoundly contemporary, Dear Evan Hansen is a new American musical about life and the way we live it.

Dear Evan Hansen is the must see show.  I have an offer for tickets for my readers, click onto Show Score for details.

New Years Home Goods Round Up

We are back at it in full force…Barely home from Christmas break and my inbox and messages are exploding with amazing blog post ideas.  I had to put somethings aside to bring you another Home Good Round Up.  I love that so many readers wrote to me over the Holidays to say it was one of their favorite posts.  So by popular demand, I am going to try to make the Round Up a regular feature.  The other day I thought I would stop by and take a look.  I was actually pleasantly surprised, because after the holiday buying frenzy I thought our local Home Goods (I went to the Port Chester location) would be wiped out.  And actually, there were some really amazing finds!!  Happy Shopping!!!

I love this tufted bench with lucite legs for the end of the bed.

My love for small occasional tables continues…this one is just perfect!!!

The faux fur love continues as well and I am dying for this to put by my upstairs hallway console table!

The jewelry boxes were beyond…I love them stacked!!!

Someone please RUN and buy these Alexa Hampton greek key lamps.  I have seen them available to the trade only.  I cannot believe they were here!!!

I should not have passed up these marble trays.  They are perfect to protect my kitchen island. I am going to go back for sure!!!

More jewelry box love!!! And they don’t have to be just for jewelry.  They would look awesome displayed in any room.  I might get one for my kitchen to put my coffee pods in.

I was dying over this incredible bakeware.  It is definitely time to say good bye to my rusted cupcake tins of our grammar school days!!!!!!!

Amazing!!!!!  This mirror is so chic!!!!

More cool bakeware.  Out with the old in with the new!!!!

I love love vintage glasses.  These have such the 60’s look. And the colors are gorgeous!

How fun are these bottle openers and cocktail books….GREAT GIFTS!!!

Every single blogger/shelter book has been using this rug style.  I have seen it in so many interiors.  I could not believe they had one!!!!

This is such a fun lucite tray.  How great for serving soda?…Coke and Diet Coke cans with straws would look so cute on this for a party.  I might have to go back for this too!!!!

I love these graphic plates.

And last but not least this lucite cart was incredible.  It would make a fabulous bar cart, indoors or out.

Waiting For The Feast of the Epiphany

The Feast of the Epiphany or the three Kings  is on January 6th.   In the Catholic religion, it is the day that Jesus is baptized.  Historically most Christians keep their Christmas decorations out until after this feast day celebration. Lucky for us, my good friend Julie Killan adheres to this and allowed me to  share her beautiful decorations with you.  There was not inch in her home that was not outfitted with something special.  What a treat!!!  Julie’s home is incredible both at Christmastime and all year round.  It has been featured on the Rye House Tour multiple times.  Julie promised me I can come back and feature the interiors soon.  Stay tuned!!!

Book Club Monday

Yesterday marked the beginning of the Awards Season in Hollywood, with the Golden Globes.  All eyes and televisions worldwide will be fixed on all the awards shows, throughout the next few months, ending with the Creme De La Creme..the Academy Awards.  Who can resist the glamour and excitement of the red carpet.  I always wanted to attend or at least be a fly on the wall!!  Now you can…I found this incredible book, The Big Show: High Time and Dirty Dealings, Backstage at the Academy Awards!!!  Wow!!!!!   I cannot wait for all the juicy secrets.  Can YOU?  To purchase this book, Click HERE.

An unprecedented look at the machinations behind everyone’s favorite Hollywood circus and what it reveals about the business of moviemaking.
Oscar parties. Oscar pools. Oscar style. Oscar predictions. The Oscars breed their own peculiar mania and a billion people worldwide are alleged to watch the broadcast every year. While that figure may be the Academy’s big white lie, the Oscars draw a viewership well into the hundreds of millions–a tremendous audience for what is essentially a television program. But this is no ordinary show. Love it or loathe it, the Oscars are an irresistible spectacle: a gloriously gaudy, glitzy, momentous, and foolish window into the unholy alliance of art and commerce that is the film industry. The Oscar statuette is a totem of such potency that millions are spent and careers laid on the line in the reckless pursuit of an eight-pound chunk of gold-plated britannium.

The Big Show is a chronicle of the past fifteen years of the Academy Awards, the most tumultuous decade in Oscar’s seventy-six year history. Written by the only journalist ever given carte blanche access to the planning, production, and backstage intrigue of the Oscars, it offers an unguarded, behind-the-scenes glimpse of this singular event, along with remarkable insight into how the Oscars reflect the high-stakes politics of Hollywood, our obsession with celebrities (not to mention celebrities’ obsession with themselves), and the cinematic state of the union. And here are my picks for the best dressed at the Golden Globes last night:

Viola Davis was perfection!!!  I met her at the Red Rooster Harlem one night a few years ago and she was just as incredible in person as the characters she plays on the big screen.

I just adore Emma Stone.  I am so glad that she hit it out of the park with this incredible look.  I am hoping all good things for her this year, especially a nomination for Best Actress for La La Land.  My fingers and toes are crossed Emma!!!
