Color of the Year

The Pantone color of the year for 2017 is “Greenery”.  We are going to be seeing a lot of green on the horizon this year.  I do love a touch of green.  Eucalyptus in a vase is especially refreshing this time of year and a perfect way to baby step into bringing some Greenery in your life.  When you are ready to dive in, here are some great examples of how to incorporate this beautiful color into your decor.

New Year New Makeup

My New Year’s resolution seems to be out with the old and in with the new.  The New Year is a great time to purge and take inventory of your life, your possessions, your goals and your attitude.   It is your time for a fresh start.  Get rid of the things that are weighing you down.  Thinking only positively   Try to spending more time on yourself and with the people who you care about and who really care about you.  On the home front, refresh your surroundings.  Replace things that are looking shabby.  Start with making a list and working on it all year long.  The one place that really starts to look shabby this time of year is my makeup bag.  I am starting fresh.  I am going to focus on replacing the basics.  Below are some ideas to get the ball rolling!  Here’s To Making Up in the New Year!!!!

New Year New Makeup

One of my favorite products is the Younique Fiber Lash Mascara.  It is a two step process that leaves your lashes looking 10X as thick and long.  It is a must try.  For more information or to purchase this product, contact my friend Tara HERE.

Book Club Monday!!!!

Hi..I am back blogging after a very restful, fun, Christmas Week.  I spent some awesome quality time with my family, met good friends in Miami, walked miles on the beach, watched Elf about 100 times with my nephews, sat under the palm trees, drink cups and cups of lattes with my mom and reflected on how wonderful 2016 was.  I am so looking forward to more great things in 2017.  During this time, I found a book that is a cannot put down must read (I did post this before but in case you missed it).  I heard people have become so engrossed in it that, they have actually missed their train/bus stops because it is that good.  The book is called Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.  The story goes like this…

“Lydia is dead. But they don’t know this yet.” So begins this exquisite novel about a Chinese American family living in 1970s small-town Ohio. Lydia is the favorite child of Marilyn and James Lee, and her parents are determined that she will fulfill the dreams they were unable to pursue. But when Lydia’s body is found in the local lake, the delicate balancing act that has been keeping the Lee family together is destroyed, tumbling them into chaos. A profoundly moving story of family, secrets, and longing, Everything I Never Told You is both a gripping page-turner and a sensitive family portrait, uncovering the ways in which mothers and daughters, fathers and sons, and husbands and wives struggle, all their lives, to understand one another. Simply Having A Wonderful Christmastime

I cannot believe Christmas is over already.   We had so much fun this Christmastime…Here is a glimpse into a well spent December with family and friends.  I will be unplugging until January to spend some quality R&R time with my mom, dad and sister.  There will be even more fashion, books, recipes, gorgeous homes and MORE in 2017, so stay tuned!!!  I am working on some very special radio guests in the New Year as well.  Au Revoir until next year!!!

My Christmas Gift For You!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!  I have been working on this playlist for so long, most of this year.  Every time I would hear a song on the radio I would snap a photo and file it away.  FINALLY, I have all my songs in order and am ready to publish….so Voila.  This playlist reminds me of a long time ago, actually decades ago.  My peeps will remember so many of these and the places that they played and how much fun we all had.  I wish I had a dollar for each time I heard someone say they wanted to go back, even just for one night, well, I hope that I can bring you back.  These songs and my dear friends will always have a special place in my heart!!  Happy Listening and hopefully singing!!!!!

Winter Wonderland Cocktail

So the Thanksgiving Cranberry Champagne Cocktail was such a huge hit that I thought I would keep the spirt momentum going and give you an AWESOME Holiday cocktail.  This Winter Wonderland looks so good.  For a Hanukkah celebration just swap out the candy cane for some blue crystal sugar or sprinkles.  I think this is going to be another crowd pleaser!!!!  Bottoms Up!!!

1.5 oz. Absolute Vanilla
.5 oz. Godiva White Chocolate Liquor
.5 oz. Creme de menthe white
2 oz milk of your choice
Ice

Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake
Pour over ice and garnish with a festive straw, stirrer and sprinkles

For an even more festive drink wet rim of glass and dip in crushed candy cane bits.
