The Sundance Film Festival is in full swing. I cannot wait to hear about all the must see movies that come out of this event. In the meanwhile, I read about the most amazing ski house right in the Sundance area. If I were to attend the festival, I would love to be staying in this home. It totally has the vibe of the area and OMG!! the view!!!!
I have to repeat my Fashionable Friend Friday pick this week and choose Cameron Silver, The King of Vintage, again. Cameron is the founder of the amazing high end Vintage store, Decades in LA and the Creative Director for the H Halston Brands. He is a an expert in the field of high fashion. I had the amazing opportunity to interview Cameron today. We spoke about his beautiful coffee table book, Decades: A Century of Fashion, his reality show The Dukes of Melrose, what pieces of clothing every woman should have in their closet, what to get rid of right now and so much more. You can listen to the interview HERE. Bon Weekend!!!
I found this recipe on a local blogger’s page, Mangia Michelle. She doctors up a brownie mix to make brownies that you will dream about…so much so, that your cravings will wake you up in the middle of the night, to go grab another one!!!! This recipe is perfect for our house, as my girls love to bake and bring treats into their classmates to share during advisory (similar to home room). Happy Baking!!!!
I am always getting questions as to what beauty products I use and recommend. I do like to try different things, especially once I read about them, but there are some items that I keep going back to and have become staples for me. As far as makeup, I stick to Laura Mercier. Hands down, it is the BEST makeup company and I have tried so many (Madonna would never steer us wrong, she has also been a long time customer!!!!). Trust me go to a Laura Mercier counter and have them try some of the products on you…you will see!!!! Below are some of the other favs that you will find in my bathroom and make up bag! Enjoy!!!
One admission can change your life…forever.
When ambitious grad student Kate Pearson’s handsome French “almost fiancé” ditches her, she definitely does not roll with the punches, despite the best efforts of family and friends. It seems that nothing will get Kate out of pajamas and back into the world.
Miraculously, one cringe-worthy job interview leads to a position in the admissions department at the revered Hudson Day School. Kate’s instantly thrown into a highly competitive and occasionally absurd culture, where she interviews all types of children: suitable, wildly unsuitable, charming, loathsome, ingratiating, or spoiled beyond all measure. And then there are the Park Avenue parents who refuse to take no for an answer.
As Kate begins to learn there’s no room for self-pity or nonsense during the height of admissions season or life itself, her sister and friends find themselves keeping secrets, dropping bombshells, and arguing with each other about how to keep Kate on her feet. Meanwhile, Kate seems to be doing very nicely, thank you, and is even beginning to find out that her broken heart is very much on the mend. Welcome to the world of Small Admissions.
