Book Club Monday

This week’s book choice is one that my own book club is reading this month, the NYT best seller, The Woman in the Window, by A J Finn.  I have seen a bunch of people reading this book and posting it on instagram, so I was curious…..The story has been called ingenious and powerful and they say that you cannot put it down once you start.  Here is the summary:

It isn’t paranoia if it’s really happening . . .
Anna Fox lives alone—a recluse in her New York City home, unable to venture outside. She spends her day drinking wine (maybe too much), watching old movies, recalling happier times . . . and spying on her neighbors.
Then the Russells move into the house across the way: a father, mother, their teenaged son. The perfect family. But when Anna, gazing out her window one night, sees something she shouldn’t, her world begins to crumble and its shocking secrets are laid bare.
What is real? What is imagined? Who is in danger? Who is in control? In this diabolically gripping thriller, no one—and nothing—is what it seems. – Amazon.com

Fashionable Friend Friday

Today’s Fashionable Friend Friday is local photographer Wendy Baruchowitz.  Wendy was literally my Christmas angel.  It was the third week of December.  And I had nothing…..no photo, or no card.  None of my kids would let me take a photo of them so it was looking like we would not be sending Holiday cards this year.  I had “met” Wendy on Facebook.   We had messaged back and forth a couple of months ago.  I decided to try my luck and reach out to her to see if she could fit us in for a mini shoot (wishful thinking the week before Christmas).   Wendy was leaving to go on vacation that Wednesday, but she offered to have my kids come in on Monday and she would photograph them.  Wendy worked for hours on my prints and she turned them around in ONE DAY, so I would be able to send out my cards by the end of the week……TOTAL ANGEL.  And she did the most amazing job.  Her photos were perfect.  Every single one came out great.   I HIGHLY recommend Wendy.  She is so personable, accommodating and all around fabulously talented.  To contact Wendy, email her HERE.

Here is one of my favorites from the photo shoot!!!!

Book Club Monday

It’s hard for me to find a book that has not been read by my readers…but today’s choice might be it!!!!!….One of my favorite authors Jojo Moyes (Me Before You) is releasing a new book TOMORROW, Still Me.  I am so excited to read this..I really love all of Jojo Moyes books.  Here is the summary……

Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She has been hired by the superrich Gopniks: Leonard and his unhappy, much younger second wife, Agnes– and finds herself amid a never-ending array of household staff and hangers-on. But Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her job and this very privileged New York life.

Soon though, Lou realizes that life in the Gopnik household is not as straightforward as it first seemed. She alos begins to make friends who inhabit a less rarefied side of New York–from the building doorman and his rambunctious family to the sisters who run the quintessential vintage clothing store downtown, to the world’s crankiest neighbor, Margot De Witt, and her fierce little dog, Dean Martin.

Before she knows what’s happening, Lou is mixing in New York high society, where she meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. As Lou tries to keep the two sides of her world together, she finds herself carrying secrets–not all her own–that cause a catastrophic change in her circumstances. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself, Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you reconcile a heart that lives in two places? Amazon.com
