Home Goods Round Up

It’s bacckkkkkk…the Home Goods recap!!  I’m really going to try to post these on a regular basis since I keep getting requests for them..I love hearing what you guys buy so please keep the notes coming.  I have to say Home Goods really is at the top of their game lately.  I have found so many amazing things the past few times I have stopped in to do the re-cap.  I have high hopes for the merchandise assortment leading up the the holidays.  All of these items were at the Port Chester location yesterday!!!  Happy Shopping!!!!

I just bought my husband something very similar from a local florist for his office and this is the exact same look for soooo much less.  And they had a pair!!!!

Ooooohhhh I wish I had a beach house!!!!

This Kartell lucite table was amazing…again I wish I had a place for it.

I regret not bringing home these wicker lanterns with me!!!  I must have been distracted by the random ships wheel sharing the space!!!!!!!  HA!!!

This did come home with me!!! I was searching for really nice plants for my patio shoot.  I know I will always find a place for this.

I am devastated, this hair calf box was already in someone’s cart.  I cannot believe I missed it.

I ended up buying these steak knives for my parents.  They are such a great french brand and I love the butcher block.

When my kids were in grammar school, we had one of these to keep all the art supplies in for craft and school projects.  They were so hard to find back then.

I loved these planters and there were a pair of each.

Japanese water baskets are really hard to find.  I have a pair that I bought ages ago and I love them!!!

I am not into faux trees but fig ficus trees are so hard to keep alive and this one was such good quality, it was hard to pass up!!!

There were a ton of chic desk accessories.

This chest would look great at the end of a twin bed.  Especially in a college dorm.

The decorative pillows were again, some of the best that I have seen in ages….

This shelving unit was so chic!….

So were these floor pillows!

Here is probably one the the greatest Home Good finds ever..these pagoda lamps with the patent shades…perfection…

I did get this adorable dog beg for my Maisy……BUT

I don’t think she loved it…HENCE..the side eye!!!!

Book Club Monday

Are you ready to laugh out loud, I mean are you ready for real belly laughs?   Then this weeks choice, Limelight: A Novel by Amy Poeppel is for you.  Here is the summary for this witty story:

Allison Brinkley—wife, mother, and former unflappable optimist—discovers that a carefully weighed decision to pack up and move her family from suburban Dallas to the glittery chaos of Manhattan may have been more complicated than she and her husband initially thought.

Allison learns that New York is unruly and bewildering, defying the notions she developed from romantic movies and a memorable childhood visit. After a humiliating call from the principal’s office and the loss of the job she was counting on, Allison begins to accept that New York may not suit her after all.

When Allison has a fender-bender, witnessed by a flock of mothers at her son’s new school, she is led to the penthouse apartment of a luxurious Central Park West building and encounters a spoiled, hungover, unsupervised teenager who looks familiar. It doesn’t take long to recognize him as Carter Reid—a famous pop star who has been cast in a new Broadway musical. Through this brush with stardom, Allison embraces a unique and unexpected opportunity that helps her find her way in the heart of Manhattan. – Amazon.com

A Very Special Birthday!!!!

Meet Catherine.  She is six.  She loves Eloise.  So, her awesome mom, my friend Patty, recreated tea at the Plaza right in her own dining room to celebrate Catherine’s sixth birthday.   OMG!!! It was incredible.  When Patty posted the party on social media I flipped.  I really wanted to share it with you.  Every detail was so perfect.  The little girls loved it and especially went crazy for the white gloves!!!!  How fab is the pink and white china (Ali Express website) and the palm tree plates (Pottery Barn). The gloves were from Gymboree.  The amazing cake was from Sweet Lisa and the nut free cupcakes were from Cerbones.  The black and white tile floor is actually a bunch of plastic table runners (brilliant!) and the magnolia napkin rings are from Deborah Rhodes (love these!!).  And Patty’s cute pink and white dress is from Tuckernuck (Pink City Prints)!!!  On her actual birthday, Catherine went to the Plaza for tea and an overnight so she could wake up in the Eloise suite and call Eloise on the Plaza’s black house phone.  What a special celebration!!!  Happy Birthday Sweet Catherine…I cannot wait for 7!!!!  XO  Bon Weekend!!!

Nantucket Spider

I have become obsessed with the Nantucket Spider products.  I saw them for the first time last summer at Whole Foods and because of the all natural ingredients (essential oils), the smell and light weight feel on my skin, I made my first purchase.  For the past 2 summers, I have had bottle of Nantucket Spider in my purse, on my patio, at the beach, pretty much anywhere I was going, and the fear of New England bugs was looming.  This year I even tried their Incense Sticks and I will NEVER EVER sit outside at night without them again.  I wish they made the incense in log form so I could burn them all summer long in our fire pit!!!!!!!!  Here are some of my favorite Nantucket Spider Products:

This is the original formula.  It protects against all biting bugs and ticks.  It is safe for all ages, including toddlers.  It is made with essential oils and citronella and is DEET free!!!  You can purchase the full size HERE or the purse size HERE.

This is the uber extra strength tick repellent.  This is perfect for walks, hikes, trails, your back yard, anywhere where you will come in contact with deer ticks.  This is also all natural, made from all essential oils, and is safe for all ages.  You can purchase the full size HERE or the purse size HERE.

This is the awesome Tick Repellent spray for Dogs.  I absolutely love this product.  I am sooo paranoid that one of my dogs is going to get a tick because we have so many deer in our neighborhood.  This smells so good and is free of any harmful chemicals.  My dogs don’t mind at all when I drench them in this!!  To purchase this product, click HERE.

Lastly, this is my all time favorite product, the Garden Incense Sticks. You can stick them directly in the ground or in the sand, next to a sitting area, and once they are lit, they will keep bugs away for a long while.  Again, they are all natural and smell incredible.  You can purchase these HERE.

Kate, Aubrey, and Jenny first met as college roommates and soon became inseparable, despite being as different as three women can be. Kate was beautiful, wild, wealthy, and damaged. Aubrey, on financial aid, came from a broken home, and wanted more than anything to distance herself from her past. And Jenny was a striver—brilliant, ambitious, and determined to succeed. As an unlikely friendship formed, the three of them swore they would always be there for each other.
But twenty years later, one of them is standing at the edge of a bridge, and someone is urging her to jump.
How did it come to this?

Kate married the gorgeous party boy, Aubrey married up, and Jenny married the boy next door. But how can these three women love and hate each other? Can feelings this strong lead to murder? When one of them dies under mysterious circumstances, will everyone assume, as is often the case, that it’s always the husband?

A suspenseful, absorbing novel that examines the complexities of friendship, It’s Always the Husband will keep readers guessing right up to its shocking conclusion. – Amazon.com
