One of the best outings I have had recently was tea at Laduree in New York. The tea rooms at Laduree mimic those found in Paris. The menu is amazing. You can get a delicious pot of tea, there are so many flavors to choose from (see below) and a plate of their pastries. The Madison location has only a few tables (thats where we went) and is very intimate but the soho location is much bigger and can accomodate larger groups. I cannot wait to try tea there next. Also the menu is quite extensive so you can choose your tea time as elaborate, with tea sandwiches and croissants, or as simple, tea and one or two macarons, as you want. Trust me YOU HAVE TO GO!!!! You will LOVE it!!!!
OK. so the new craze seems to be eating uncooked cookie dough in various flavors. This is so much so that an entire store in NYC opened called Cookie Dô. There is a line to get in that can take up to 3+ hours. Trust me, I know…I went!!!! I did a little research and found an amazing company that mail orders cookie dough and it is incredible. No waiting in line and it is delivered to you door within a couple of days. It is called Edoughble and you will LOVE it. I ordered a bunch for my kids and their friends and was a HUGE hit. I have been reading about the Danish philosophy Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) of comfort, togetherness and comfort. The way I understand it Hygge means to nest in your comfortable home enjoying your family and surroundings! I had to share a house with you today that a dear friend just renovated in Portland. The owner and I use to work together at Tiffany & Co for years! Her vibe has always been chic, minimal and totally modern, in everything she does, how she dresses and her home decor. When she shared her renovation on Facebook, I had to ask her if I could post it. How beautiful is this house? Its mid century modern look is so incredible. The owners really wanted to take the home to a place where they could entertain and enjoy the tranquility of their surroundings!!!!! It is so fabulous that this home recently won a Northwest Design Award. Bon Weekend!!!
