Wuji

A new Chinese restaurant opened in Rye a few months ago. Wuji is a farm to wok experience with organic food and no MSG whatsoever!!!  I went with a couple of girlfriends and we tried a tasting of the amazing menu.  The spareribs were a huge it and the Lobster Fried Rice was a definitely must have.  Actually, everything on the menu was superb not to mention the cool decor.  And, I have to keep it a secret but they do bring each table a yummy surprise after each meal!!  They are in the process of building their flagship restaurant in Greenwich, which will open later this year.  I promise to keep you posted.  To learn more about Wuji and their other locations, click HERE.

Book Club Monday

Most of us have children in middle and high school classes.  Times are so different now, then when we were the same age.  There are so many things our children have to juggle: school, friendships, technological advances,  the difficult college process, sports and so many more day to day issues.  Ian Thomas Malone, a fellow BC Grad!!!!!  wrote an incredible book to help deal with many of these issues.  His book Five High School Dialogues is simply brilliant and a MUST READ for all teenagers and their parents.  The story goes like this….

High School, a rite of passage for all American teenagers, can be a daunting experience. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a little help along the way? George Tecce, known as The Chief, takes a hiatus from his collegiate adventures to help students navigate through the often daunting labyrinth with his signature oft-kilter enlightening comedy. No topic is off limits as The Chief breaks down high school for students and parents discussing such topics as bullying, prom, and the dreaded group project. Refreshingly unique and accessible, Five High School Dialogues is the perfect all-inclusive guide to high school.

Fashionable Friend Friday

Happy Earth Day!!!  Today’s Fashionable Friend Friday are the Gurus of cleaning, Gwen Whiting and Lindsay Boyd of the Laundress.  These two amazing ladies started this company after long stints at Ralph Lauren and Chanel.  They were finding that the dry cleaner was ruining many of their prize garments.  So as graduates of the Cornell University’s Fiber Science, Textile, and Apparel Management and Design Program they saw the opportunity to advance the world of fabric care.  Their products are incredible.  I love each one.  I am addicted to their Wrinkle Release and everything gets sprayed with their Fabric Fresh.  Their flagship store on Prince St is so gorgeous and I love going there to just look around, watch cleaning demonstrations and learn new techniques.  For more information about the Laundress or to view all of their life-changing products, click HERE

I was lucky enough to interview Gwen and Lindsay and hear all of their cleaning and laundry secrets.  To Listen, click HERE

Are You Pantry Ready?

I get tons of emails, texts from readers complaining that putting dinner on the table night after night is sooo challenging.  Everyone is running out of ideas.  I feel you for sure!!!!  Yesterday, I went to the most amazing cooking demonstration at K’s Kitchen.  My friend Karen does a weekly cooking class where you gather with friends and she makes 3 family friendly, easy entrees, with sides and even throws in a starter and dessert.  Everyone eats what she makes and takes notes on the printed recipes she provides.  What a great idea.  Karen is helping us to bring family dinner back!!!!!  We loved watching Karen at her craft.  She sure has a knack for cooking and chopping!!!!!  Karen says a stocked pantry is key to getting the nightly meals on the table.  She kindly shared her coveted list with us. For more information on K’s Kitchen or to get in touch with Karen, contact her, knschulz@verizon.net.
