I decided to take on New Leaf Financial Advisory as a sponsor, because there were so many money questions that my readers would ask me. I sent these onto Hilary and Patti of New Leaf and we have been ticking them off our list each month. One of the most common questions I receive, is…”How can I invest if I only have a little bit of money to do so?”. I sent this inquiry onto my two money honeys and following is what they sent me back. I have to say it is a really wonderful start. I am so happy to share it with you. Remember, New Leaf Financial is offering a special to NS Lifestyle readers, a New Year Financial consult session for only $150. Please contact New Leaf Financial Advisory to book your consultation today!!!
My mom and sister came to visit this Valentine’s Day. We were able to celebrate together with my girls. My husband is in London, but his treats await his return and sadly my son is at school (hopefully eating all of the boxes of Girl Scout cookies that I sent to him this week!!). So it was just us girls. I really wanted to make a fun cocktail to celebrate this special day together…They LOVED it…I am so excited to share it with you!!!! Happy Heart Day Everyone….

New Year….New Skin…Here are some of my tried and true skin care products that I have been using constantly. Proper skin care is a chore. It is a combination of home care and in office treatments. I get regular derma-planing (every 6 weeks) at Skin Westchester and use the following to maintain at home. I think that consistency is the key to good skin. Whenever I stray from my routine, disaster strikes….Happy Cleansing!!!!

This week’s choice, My Absolute Darling, by Gabriel Tallent, is a NYT INSTANT best seller, it is also a NYT’s and Washington Post’s most notable reads for 2017, and USA today, Amazon and NPR Book of the Year. So I thought we really needed to add it to our list…Here is the story:
Turtle Alveston is a survivor. At fourteen, she roams the woods along the northern California coast. The creeks, tide pools, and rocky islands are her haunts and her hiding grounds, and she is known to wander for miles. But while her physical world is expansive, her personal one is small and treacherous: Turtle has grown up isolated since the death of her mother, in the thrall of her tortured and charismatic father, Martin. Her social existence is confined to the middle school (where she fends off the interest of anyone, student or teacher, who might penetrate her shell) and to her life with her father.
Then Turtle meets Jacob, a high-school boy who tells jokes, lives in a big clean house, and looks at Turtle as if she is the sunrise. And for the first time, the larger world begins to come into focus: her life with Martin is neither safe nor sustainable. Motivated by her first experience with real friendship and a teenage crush, Turtle starts to imagine escape, using the very survival skills her father devoted himself to teaching her. What follows is a harrowing story of bravery and redemption. With Turtle’s escalating acts of physical and emotional courage, the reader watches, heart in throat, as this teenage girl struggles to become her own hero—and in the process, becomes ours as well. – Amazon.com
