This book was recommended to me by Amazon and it sounds sooo good...The Picture on the Fridge: The Debut Psychological Thriller with the twist of the year is this week’s choice.  It is only available on Kindle (actually it is on the shortlist for the Kindle storyteller award for 2019!!!).  Soooo, I really hope that you have the Kindle app so you don’t miss out.  Here is the story,

Mags Barkworth still suffers the effects of a life-changing tragedy over a decade ago.

She knows her husband loves her.

She knows he would never do anything to hurt her, or their daughter.

But what if the voice in her head, the one she’s pushed away with therapy and anti-depressants, is telling the truth?

What if it’s all a lie?

When Tam, their daughter, draws an uncannily detailed picture of a place she’s never been, Mags’ life starts to unravel.

But even in her most paranoid moment, Mags could never have guessed the secret she is destined to uncover.

Out of the Box Decor

There’s something about the Hermes orange box.  I love when I see them stacked as part of a room design.  I recently did this in my closet.  It not only looks soooo good but there is so much storage for everything from bracelets to sandals.  I had some of the boxes and others, I bought on Ebay and Poshmark.  Such a simple concept with a huge impact!!!!!

West Side Story A New Broadway Revival

“There are very few musicals that were written years ago that feel like they were created this morning!!!”  We just got tickets for the highly anticipated Broadway revival of West Side Story for January 15th at 8:00 pm in the Orchestra for $155.  Email me to save your spot!!! The dancing looks amazing..I cannot wait!!!

West Side Story, the most exciting musical theater masterpiece of the 20th century.

When four theatrical giants — Jerome Robbins, Leonard Bernstein, Arthur Laurents and Stephen Sondheim — created West Side Story, it was immediately hailed as an “indisputable, boundary-busting masterpiece” (The New York Times) that “explodes every imaginable idea of what a musical can be” (New York Magazine). Now, three of the most daring theater-makers of our time — director Ivo van Hove (A View From the Bridge and The Crucible), choreographer Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, and designer and frequent Van Hove collaborator Jan Versweyveld — offer a radical, thrilling new interpretation of this iconic work, with extraordinary dancing, breathtaking vision, and 23 young, brilliantly gifted performers all making their Broadway debuts. Don’t miss this opportunity to see a landmark in musical theater history as if for the very first time.

Book Club Monday

I read about this book, and it really intrigued me.  I normally do not choose “coming of age” books but….Opioid Indiana by Brian Allen Carr stopped me in my tracks.  I am finding it really interesting.  Here is the story:

Set in the beleaguered heart of Indiana’s opioid crisis, Brian Allen Carr’s timely and tender novel about a teen struggling to find his place in the world—and come up with $800 rent—is at once a moving rumination on the hopeful power of story and a harrowing insight into modern America. It is a book you won’t soon forget.

Seventeen-year-old Riggle is living in rural Indiana with his uncle and uncle’s girlfriend after the death of his parents. Now his uncle is missing, probably on a drug binge. It’s Monday, and $800 in rent is due Friday. Riggle, who’s been suspended from school, has to either find his uncle or get the money together himself. His mission exposes him to a motley group of Opioid locals—encounters by turns perplexing, harrowing, and heartening.

With empathy and insight, Carr explores what it’s like to be a high school kid in the age of Trump—a time of economic inequality, addiction, Confederate flags, and mass shootings. Through the voice of its unforgettable protagonist—charismatic, confused, searching, by turns cynical and naïve, wise and impulsive—Opioid, Indiana pierces to the heart of our moment. – Amazon.com
