Easter Tablesettings

I don’t host Easter but if I did, I would like my table setting to look like one of those below.  There is something sooo soothing about using pastel colors and bright flowers on your dining table.  I love the addition of vintage drinking glasses and milk glass serving pieces.  Oh and you cannot go wrong with bunnies, chocolate or otherwise and other seasonal trinkets!!!

Coconut Poke Cake for Easter

Here is what we are making this year for Easter dessert.  I first saw this recipe on Pinterest and knew that we had to make it.  My daughter loves loves to bake.  Her classmates are always asking her to bring in bark or brownies to school for meetings and parties.  She has one teacher who loves her baking so much!!!!  Sooooooo I gave the recipe to my daughter to “practice” last week so it would be perfect for our family on Easter Sunday.  I really lucked out because my mom was really excited and decided to help her. I was totally off the hook.  We thought we should practice because some recipes that you get online don’t always come out looking like they should!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Luckily this cake came out amazing…I think the key is to refrigerate the cake before you serve it to get the perfect consistency.  Bon Appetit!!!

Jean Jackets for Spring?

I have to admit something….I never have owned
a jean jacket.  I have always admired them on
others but when it came down to it, I just could
not pull the trigger. A jean jacket just looked
silly on me.  It was totally not my jam!!!!!!
HOWEVER, I saw a light denim jacket with
flared sleeves and since the jacket is making
a huge comeback this spring, I thought I
would jump right in. I plan on wearing my new
jean jacket over dresses and even buttoned
up with black pants and white jeans!!!  Here
are some of my favorite jean jackets.  Notice
the ruffles, distressed details and of course
flared sleeves!!!!

Breathe

HI!!!  We are just hitting the last leg of our Spring Break…I am going to spend the rest of this week with my family.  I promise to be back next week with more fashion, family and fun…..OH and a really great Miami round up (you are going to LOVE it)

Book Club Monday

Today I am going to send you on a virtual Spring Break with this week’s Book Club Choice, In the Spirit of Miami Beach.  I love this book.  It is so perfect to showcase on your coffee table.   The images are  beautiful and with each page,  you feel like you are right there sitting on the beach.  I also love the pool on the cover, it is the iconic South Beach Raleigh Hotel pool!!!  Here is what you will find inside:

What Venice was to the world during the Renaissance era, so Miami is to the world today. An active melting pot of cultures; where Art Deco contends with Spanish Baroque; where artists mingle with athletes, models, and socialites; where South Americans and Eastern Europeans sit together for espressos on Ocean Drive. This book explores Miami Beach style, from the mythical Lincoln Road to Art Basel Miami, one of the leading international art fairs. With an in-depth look at its historical past as well as its present-day glamour, In The Spirit of Miami Beach elegantly captures the city’s vibrant personality and cultural jubilance. With an exuberant text by noted author, entertainer, and bon vivant David Leddick, this rich volume brings one of the world’s hottest destinations to colorful life. The book concludes with a selective guide on the hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and spas to experience “stylish Miami”. – Amazon.com
