I and You

Yesterday a group of friends and I joined my sponsor Fortune Theatricals for their “A Day At the Theater” series.  They do this event about once every three or four months and bring a group to see a show with special pricing and have a disucssion with the cast and or director afterwards.  I have gone a few times and it is MAGICAL!!  Yesterday’s group was treated to the show I and You.  If you are interested in joining our theater group please email Ashley DeSimone HERE or ashley@fortunetheatricalventures.com.

Here’s the Synopisis of I and You:

Classmates but virtual strangers, Caroline and Anthony have more in common than they
know.

Homebound due to illness, Caroline is something of a loner. So when popular student
Anthony unexpectedly arrives to work on a school project about Walt Whitman’s Leaves of
Grass, she is less than thrilled. But, as the poetry project progresses, Caroline finds herself

opening up in ways she never imagined possible, and the two discover a deeper mystery

has brought them together.

An ode to life, love and human connection, I and You will warm your heart and leave you

breathless.

Weekend Real Estate Stalking

I love spending time in Southampton over the summer.  My dream would be to find a little cottage and just spend the summer months on Little Plains Beach stopping into town from time to time and visiting friends all along the East End.  Of course, I love getting the weekly SH real estate updates.  This week an amazing estate was highlighted.  Here is the perfect 11 bedroom beach house which onced belonged to the Carnegie family, named Meadowmere, and can be yours for a mere $32,500,000.

Big Cats the Art of Robert Dallet

Its sad to see the end of yet another fun fashion week.  However, I have to say that I was able to end it with a BANG!!  Last night I went to the lecture Hermes: A Natural History given by Ménéhold De Bazelaire, the Director of Cultural Heritage and Curiator of the Emile Hermes museum.  This lecutre accompanied Hermes and Panthera exhibit of  Fierce and Fragle: Big Cats in the Art of Robert Dallet at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich Ct.  The exhibit highlights the works of Dallet, who started working for Hermes in 1985 and created some of the most iconic big cat designs for the company.  The Panthera, the global wild cat conservation organization have partnered with Hermes to bring this exhibit starting in Greenwhich and then travelling throughout Europe and Asia in 2016-2017.  Hermes is also offering limited editions of scarfs and a coffee table book, with some of the proceeds benefitting this impoartant cause.  Hermes is also giving complimentary admisson to this beautiful exhibit at the Bruce Museum now until March 13th. Bon Weekend!!!

Waffles and Dinges

I’ve been hearing about the amazing Waffles and Dinges truck travelling around New York City.  I started following them on Instagram and all is can say is WOW.  Lucky for us, we ran into the truck last week and decided to stop for a coffee and try out one of the amazing waffles.  It was so delicious.  I brought some home for my food critics and the waffles were a home run all around (how could they not be!!!).  I defintely recommend looking them up the next time you are in the City.  Oh, and I tried one of their other specialities, Latte with maple syrup.  It was incredible.   To find where the truck is located, check out their Website.

H&M Home

Last week while running around the city, we ran into H&M to check out their home department.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Everything was so well designed and well priced.  We espeically fell in love with their throw pillows and pillow covers, from geometric prints, to luxurous velvets to the ever loved banana palm prints (not shown..sorry on website though!!!).  Check out H&M home, I have added many many things to my wish list for my office makeover!!!

Attending the Shows

With the bitter cold setting in and record lows for the past fews days, running around Manhattan was a challenge, to say the least.  I looked around at all the show attendees and saw ALOT of fur…coats, jackets, vests (long and short) mittens, etc.  The most popular color was black (obvi) with glimpes of gold accessories.  Bags ranged from the “it” chanel classic to cool vintages and trendy luxury pieces.  Oh and bag charms were EVERYWHERE!!!  The other thing I noticed but did not “get” were that many fashionistas kept their sunglasses on indoors while watching the shows. Stay Warm New Yorkers!!!!!!!
