This week’s Fashionable Friend Friday is Sue Scully, president of Watson’s Catering. My family has been using Watson’s to help mark all of our special occasions, over the years. Sue and her team have been with us for engagement parties, showers, milestone birthdays and so much more. Watson’s is so professional and the food and presentation are beyond your wildest dreams. Each week they will e-mail you a menu of dinner options of two to three entrees and sides that will be available for pick up. I was reading that one of the best ways to grow roses are potatoes!!!!!! YES!!!!! POTATOES!!!!! It is almost spring and now is the best time to try this soooooooo……
Here goes:
1. Cut a healty rose stem on a diagonal (you can remove the flower head).
2. Make a hole in a potato at least 2 inches deep.
3. Dip the end of the stem in plant hormone powder (this is optional but help encourage roses or grow)
4. Put the tip into the hole of the potato.
5. Bury the potato into the ground to cover the potato but leave the cutting exposed.
6. Put a stake in the ground and loosely attached the cutting to keep it straight.
7. Water the soil around the planting but do not soak the ground as too much water will rot the potato.

I love the Oscars….probably because I love the movies, the actors, the actresses, the costumes, the music, just about EVERYTHING. By the time award season rolls around I try to have seen most, if not all, of the nominated films. This year was no exception. I thought the films overall were rather dark but I did enjoy them none the less. Of course, I was hoping that sweet Leo would win. No one wants to believe in the Oscar Curse and after 6 times it sure was his turn. I loved that everyone gave Leo at standing ovation when his name was called. As usual the fashions did not disappoint. Here are some of my favorite looks from last night…..
The best one!!!…I love Julianne Moore..she always hits it out of the park and can you really go wrong in Chanel?
I have to give Rooney Mara a shout out too because her Givenchy dress, makeup and shoes are perfection. They are feting her as the modern day Audrey Hepburn and I have to agree!!!
