One admission can change your life…forever.
When ambitious grad student Kate Pearson’s handsome French “almost fiancé” ditches her, she definitely does not roll with the punches, despite the best efforts of family and friends. It seems that nothing will get Kate out of pajamas and back into the world.
Miraculously, one cringe-worthy job interview leads to a position in the admissions department at the revered Hudson Day School. Kate’s instantly thrown into a highly competitive and occasionally absurd culture, where she interviews all types of children: suitable, wildly unsuitable, charming, loathsome, ingratiating, or spoiled beyond all measure. And then there are the Park Avenue parents who refuse to take no for an answer.
As Kate begins to learn there’s no room for self-pity or nonsense during the height of admissions season or life itself, her sister and friends find themselves keeping secrets, dropping bombshells, and arguing with each other about how to keep Kate on her feet. Meanwhile, Kate seems to be doing very nicely, thank you, and is even beginning to find out that her broken heart is very much on the mend. Welcome to the world of Small Admissions.
I am not much of Skier anymore but much more of an Apres Skier now!!!!! I have come to hate, hate extreme weather conditions. But I love the snow…I love the look of it…the feeling of sitting and watching it from the window….there is nothing more calming to me than watching a snow storm. The dream of a ski house rarely crossed my mind…UNTIL…I saw Aerin Lauder’s gorgeous Aspen home a few years back. Every winter, I think of that fabulous space. When it started snowing this afternoon, I just knew where I wanted to take you……join me at Aerin’s!!!!!!

Not since Hamilton has there been so much hype for a broadway show. Dear Evan Hansen, a beautiful coming of age story about a high school senior struggling to connect and find his place, received the award for Best Musical! It stars Ben Platt, of Pitch Perfect!!!..Here is the story:
A letter that was never meant to be seen, a lie that was never meant to be told, a life he never dreamed he could have. Evan Hansen is about to get the one thing he’s always wanted: a chance to finally fit in. Both deeply personal and profoundly contemporary, Dear Evan Hansen is a new American musical about life and the way we live it.
Dear Evan Hansen is the must see show. I have an offer for tickets for my readers, click onto Show Score for details.

We are back at it in full force…Barely home from Christmas break and my inbox and messages are exploding with amazing blog post ideas. I had to put somethings aside to bring you another Home Good Round Up. I love that so many readers wrote to me over the Holidays to say it was one of their favorite posts. So by popular demand, I am going to try to make the Round Up a regular feature. The other day I thought I would stop by and take a look. I was actually pleasantly surprised, because after the holiday buying frenzy I thought our local Home Goods (I went to the Port Chester location) would be wiped out. And actually, there were some really amazing finds!! Happy Shopping!!!
The Feast of the Epiphany or the three Kings is on January 6th. In the Catholic religion, it is the day that Jesus is baptized. Historically most Christians keep their Christmas decorations out until after this feast day celebration. Lucky for us, my good friend Julie Killan adheres to this and allowed me to share her beautiful decorations with you. There was not inch in her home that was not outfitted with something special. What a treat!!! Julie’s home is incredible both at Christmastime and all year round. It has been featured on the Rye House Tour multiple times. Julie promised me I can come back and feature the interiors soon. Stay tuned!!!
