I love a good treasure hunt more than anyone. I was so sad when the Twig Antique shop closed in Rye in NY. I never really found anything like it until now. Last week I visited The Knack Shoppe in Pound Ridge NY. It’s an adorable treasure trove chock full of gems. The owner Mary has the best eye. She takes consignments as well as runs really high-end estate sales. From vintage glassware to fine jewelry to designer shoes and clothes, it is all showcased in the Knack Shoppe. Mary is constantly receiving new merchandise so there is always something new and probably really special every time you visit…… to, as Mary’s says, “make your home more magical”. I cannot wait to visit again!!!

I just downloaded today’s book, Apples Never Fail by Laine Moriarity. This book became an instant #1 NYT’s bestseller. And if you liked Big Little Lies and 9 Perfect Strangers, you are going to LOVE this too!
From Liane Moriarty, the number-one New York Times best-selling author of Big Little Lies and Nine Perfect Strangers, comes Apples Never Fall, an audiobook that looks at marriage, siblings, and how the people we love the most can hurt us the deepest. The Delaney family love one another dearly – it’s just that sometimes they want to murder each other….If your mother was missing, would you tell the police? Even if the most obvious suspect was your father? This is the dilemma facing the four grown Delaney siblings.
The Delaneys are fixtures in their community. The parents, Stan and Joy, are the envy of all of their friends. They’re killers on the tennis court, and off it their chemistry is palpable. But after 50 years of marriage, they’ve finally sold their famed tennis academy and are ready to start what should be the golden years of their lives. So why are Stan and Joy so miserable?
The four Delaney children – Amy, Logan, Troy, and Brooke – were tennis stars in their own right, yet as their father will tell you, none of them had what it took to go all the way. But that’s okay, now that they’re all successful grown-ups and there is the wonderful possibility of grandchildren on the horizon.
One night a stranger named Savannah knocks on Stan and Joy’s door, bleeding after a fight with her boyfriend. The Delaneys are more than happy to give her the small kindness she sorely needs. If only that was all she wanted.
Later, when Joy goes missing, and Savannah is nowhere to be found, the police question the one person who remains: Stan. But for someone who claims to be innocent, he, like many spouses, seems to have a lot to hide. Two of the Delaney children think their father is innocent, two are not so sure – but as the two sides square off against each other in perhaps their biggest match ever, all of the Delaneys will start to reexamine their shared family history in a very new light. – Amazon.com

I am so looking forward to working with our new sponsor, CB Lifestyle. As you know I love a good table setting and by now I know you do too!!! I met Carolyn through a mutal friend. She is an elegant party planner (among other very talented careers) turned place/setting tastemaker. She curates her website CB Lifestyle with the finest collection of tableware, entertaining and home decor items. It’s basically like she took the elegant 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman and nicely packaged everything for you to shop at home in one very beautiful website. I love how Carolyn creates a “mood board” for all her tables. She kindly shared her holiday board below. She is happy to work with you to create a new table of your own for the upcoming holidays or even work directly with a client to enhance what they already have and help create a “look” for their table.
For more information on CB lifestyle or to contact Carolyn with your own ideas, visit her website HERE. As for me, I am absolutely in love with the Ginori china picutred in Carolyns mood board. I am torn over which color I like best, they are all stunning. Which do you like. Drop me a line and let me know!! Bon Weekend!!!
There’s rarely such a thing as a perfect tattoo. Some tattoos you see might look outstanding at first, but take a closer look, and you’ll find something wrong with it. Perhaps the colors used don’t go well together, maybe there’s shading where there shouldn’t be, inaccurate line work, and so on. And since we can’t peel off the skin, why not just cover it up?
Cover-up tattoos are usually for those tattoos that are sub-par in one way or another. Most artists will tell you to make sure you’ve gone over your design with a fine-tooth comb before getting it permanently inked on your body. But what if you get unlucky and end up with an unflattering design? Well, you can get another one! If you’re not into that whole scene then perhaps you can just opt to cover it up. After all, some tattoos are just downright hideous – and you’ll be doing yourself a huge favor if you just cover it. Of course, cover-up tattoos are also sometimes used to ‘correct’ an existing tattoo or to create a whole new look for what the wearer wants.
There are different reasons why people choose to have their tattoos covered up, but more often than not, they fall into one of two categories: either the tattoo design is hideous or it no longer has any special meaning to the wearer. In either case, you have a lot of options when it comes to covering it. The most common type of cover-up tattoo is a solid black one, as it’s easy to create and helps hide the original ink underneath it.
Another option you have for your tattoo cover-up is to create a whole new design from scratch. This way, you can decide how big or small the tattoo will be since you’re the one drawing it up. If you want to make sure your cover-up tattoo will look great, you might want to bring in a picture of what’s supposed to be covering it, so the artist can get an idea of how to go about doing it. Lastly, you can also choose to get tattoos that look like the original ones. Some people want their tattoos covered up so they don’t have to repeat the same mistake again, and getting a replica of what was there before is a great way not only to cover it up but to remember the original, too.
Now, you might be asking yourself how does a cover up tattoo work? If so, it’s pretty much the same process as getting a regular tattoo done. You still have to find a tattoo artist who’s trustworthy and have them draw your design for you. It’s always best to get in touch with an artist first before letting them ink you, just so that you can be certain that you’re working together on the same page.
In most cases, your cover-up tattoo will work by either covering up the existing one or supplementing it. For example, say you had a tattoo of a snake on your arm and decided you no longer wanted to have any reminder of that reptile around. All you’ll need is to get the artist to add some larger design on top of it so it can’t be seen anymore, and you’re set. You can also make the new design smaller than what was there before. If your original tattoo didn’t fill up all of your skin, then having some left visible can look more impressive.
Last night I tried the new Greca Mediterranean Kitchen on Main Street in White Plains. The menu puts a rustic spin on the traditional Greek fare. The new location is quite chic and very metropolitan looking. They source local produce and sustainably raised fresh wild seafood and organic meats. This is the second location for Greca, the first in Westchester, and in 2021 their New Milford location won Connecticut Magazine’s reader choice 2021for best Restaurant picks and a 2020 top staff pick in CT Bites. Even though their food is quite outstanding, their primary goal is their approach to hospitality where “you enter as strangers but leave as friends”. See you there!!!!
Stuffed Grape leaves…a Greek menu staple!!!
Zucchini Fritters!!!
The Roasted Beat appetizer!!! Yummm
The cocktails were really amazing!
Here is a sampling of some of their amazing Greek Dips!
Shrimp Santorini
Assortment of some of their salads!
They have an extensive wine selection.
This was my favorite…greek egg pasta with mushrooms, truffle oil and light cream…oh and some Brussel sprouts too!
Mediterranean Grill
And loads of great desserts!!!!
Who is ready for a thriller? Our Book Club is back and this week’s book is The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I have started listening to many of my books on audible and I am loving this change. This book is particularly great on audible because you get an added bonus..an interview with the author. I am in the middle of it right now and I cannot stop!! Here is the story:
The Silent Patient is a shocking psychological thriller of a woman’s act of violence against her husband – and of the therapist obsessed with uncovering her motive.
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word.
Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety. The price of her art skyrockets, and she, the silent patient, is hidden away from the tabloids and spotlight at the Grove, a secure forensic unit in North London.
Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has waited a long time for the opportunity to work with Alicia. His determination to get her to talk and unravel the mystery of why she shot her husband takes him down a twisting path into his own motivations – a search for the truth that threatens to consume him….
