The Kite Runner:
One of the best-loved and most highly acclaimed novels of our time, The Kite Runner is a haunting tale of friendship, spanning cultures and continents, that follows one man’s journey to confront his past and find redemption. Afghanistan is a divided country on the verge of war and two childhood friends are about to be torn apart. It’s a beautiful afternoon in Kabul and the skies are full of the excitement and joy of a kite flying tournament. But neither of the boys can foresee the terrible incident which will shatter their lives forever.
A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical:
The story of the legendary Neil Diamond comes to life on stage in a gripping and uplifting new musical featuring his hit songs “Sweet Caroline”, “America”, and “Cracklin’ Rosie”. Directed by Tony Award® winner Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening, Hedwig and the Angry Inch), choreographed by Olivier Award-winner Steven Hoggett (Once, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), and written by four-time Academy Award® nominee Anthony McCarten (Bohemian Rhapsody, The Two Popes), Good times never seemed so good.
Based on the cult classic 1988 film by Tim Burton, Beetlejuice has finally been unearthed for the Broadway stage. The Beetlejuice musical features a book by Scott Brown and Emmy Award nominee Anthony King and an original score by Australian singer-songwriter Eddie Perfect, and it even has a couple of signature tunes from the original movie thrown in for good measure: “Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)” and “Jump in the Line (Shake, Señora),” both made famous by Jamaican American icon Harry Belafonte.
Under the direction of two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers, Beetlejuice promises more ghoulish raunch and filth than you could possibly imagine (oh, and the biggest sandworm Broadway has ever seen). The scenic design by David Korins is a stunningly macabre tribute to Burton himself, and the production overflows with special effects by Jeremy Chernick and illusions by Michael Weber that are as jaw-dropping as they are heart-stopping.

OMG..I loved loved Will and Grace. I mean beyond loved so when I heard Deborah Messing was coming to Braodway, I know it was a must-see. The show is called Birthday Candles and here is the summary
Debra Messing (Will & Grace) returns to the stage as Ernestine Ashworth, who spends her 17th birthday agonizing over her insignificance in the universe. Soon enough, it’s her 18th birthday. Even sooner, her 41st. Her 70th. Her 101st. Five generations, dozens of goldfish, an infinity of dreams, one cake baked over a century. What makes a lifetime…into a life? A new play by Noah Haidle.
Here is an article from today’s post on the show!!

I am sooooo excited that Funny Girl is coming back to Broadway I have been dreaming about this for years. Come with me on April 4th. Orchestra tickets are $160. EMAIL me to save your spot.
Golden Globe Award nominee Beanie Feldstein (Booksmart; Hello, Dolly!) will star as “Fanny Brice” in the first Broadway revival of Funny Girl.
Funny Girl tells the bitter-sweet story of Fanny Brice (Feldstein), whose unique comedic and vocal talent see her rise from young Brooklyn music hall performer to star, and her tempestuous relationship with a gambler, Nicky Arnstein.
The new production directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spring Awakening) features some of the most iconic songs in theatre history including “People” and “Don’t Rain on My Parade.” Performances begin in spring 2022 at a Broadway theatre to be announced.
Michael Mayer’s bold new production marks the first time Funny Girl will return to Broadway since its debut 58 years ago. The original production of Funny Girl premiered on Broadway in 1964 starring Barbra Streisand as “Fanny Brice” and was nominated for eight Tony Awards including Best Musical.

When I was in London a couple of summers ago, I was invited to a showing of the Oliver winning play Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. I had heard it was the new smash sensation on the London theater scene so I was really curious about it. From the minute it started, I really loved everything about the show. Jamie was incredible. The story was heartwarming and the music terrific. Afterwards, we met with the actors and the directors and discussed the possibility of it coming to Broadway. They were hoping but then a little over a year later the pandemic hit and I had not heard much more. Until today, I just found out that the FILM ADAPTION IS COMING TO AMAZON PRIME next week.
With over 1,000 sold-out shows on London’s West End and making its debut on Amazon Prime on September 17th, MacRae’s passion project has been slated to run at the Ahmanson in Los Angeles for its national tour. Both the playwright and the screenwriter, British creative genius television writer, author, lyricist, television producer, and screenwriter Tom MacRae, is the next Ryan Murphy taking over from stage to screen with his Olivier Award-winning play that’s now a film.
Everybody’s Talking About Jamie tells the tale of Jamie New: sixteen, not quite fitting in on a council estate in Sheffield – but with big aspirations. Supported by his brilliant loving mum and surrounded by his friends, Jamie overcomes prejudice, beats the bullies, and steps out of the darkness into the spotlight to become a sensation, in a fearless, funny, fabulous musical.
