While on Spring Break, I met my bestie Leeann in Miami for a GNO overnight. We had the greatest time together!!! We drove around the city, shopped, stayed up wayyyyy too late catching up and really enjoyed all that Miami has to offer!!! We choose the Matador Room, Jean Georges Vongerichten’s glamorous restaurant with decor reminiscent of 1940 and 50’s supper clubs for dinner. The menu is Jean Georges’ take on Caribbean, Spanish, Latin and South American cuisines. We enjoyed sharing quite a few dishes and our love for Miami and Jean Georges grew with each bite. If you are visiting the South Florida area, The Matador room is a MUST!!!!!
More and more Designers are getting into the cosmetics game. I keep hearing great things about these haute couture lines. The Armani Eyes to Kill mascara is high on my wish list. Since Easter is just around the corner, why don’t you add one of the beauties to your own Easter Basket?
Today’s Book Club Monday pick is Shadow on the Mountain. This title will be released tomorrow and it is a fascinating story of wealth, Aspen society, and murder!!! Here is the summary:
Nancy Pfister, heir to Buttermilk Mountain, the world-renowned site of the Winter X Games, was Aspen royalty, its ambassador to the world. She lived among the rich and famous: she partied with Hunter S. Thompson, dated Jack Nicholson, had a joint baby shower with Goldie Hawn, and globetrotted with Angelica Houston. She was also a philanthropist, admired for her generosity. But behind the warm façade, she could be selfish, manipulative, and careless. Pfister enjoyed bragging about her wealth and celebrity connections, but those closest to her, like Kathy Carpenter, Pfister’s personal assistant, drinking companion, and on one occasion lover, knew better.
In 2013, after a long fall from grace, Dr. William Styler and his wife, Nancy, relocated to Aspen to reinvent themselves. They’d lived the high life before a misguided lawsuit left them near poverty, and Nancy Pfister was their answered prayer. This week’s Real Estate Stalking is a house, in White Plains, NY, with the most amazing curb appeal and elegant touches. I absolutely love that it makes you stop in your tracks when you drive by. It sits majestically on the property and has been painstakingly maintained to keep much of its original 1920’s grandeur. This week we were invited to a special lunch with Kate Spade, hosted by Walin and Wolff, to preview her amazing new collection of shoes and accessories, Frances Valentine. Kate is back to designing and WOW, are the pieces gorgeous. Kate is as fabulous as her wares, in fact, the whole Frances Valentine team is wonderful. I loved talking with them about the products and the company. I love love the jeweled flats, the grass green patent color and the gold kitten heel slingbacks with the bow accents are on top of my wish list. One of the cutest looks was a pair of the lace up silver espadrilles with a crisp white lace shift dress…..adorbs….I cannot wait for future collections!!!! Bon Weekend!!!
