This week’s real estate stalking is none other than the White House. More specifically, the White House at Christmastime. This year Carolina Herrera was asked to decorate the China Room. I have always admired Ms. Herrera’s designs. They have such a “ladies who lunch” elegance. I really believe that no matter what the occasion, if you are fortunate enough to wear Carolina Herrera, you will be impeccably dressed. So you can imagine how excited I was to see finished product of the China Room Holiday Decor. The end result is truly beautiful. What an inspiration, as I attempt decorate our tree this weekend!!!!
If you are around the Greenwich, Ct area this weekend, you have to stop by the Sacred Heart Come Home for Christmas event. They are going to have an amazing boutique with gingerbread house decorating, unique vendors, a wine and cheese tasting and much more. The fun starts at noon on Sunday until 4pm. Next week my daughter has a cookie exchange in school. I saw this recipe and thought it would be the perfect thing for her to share with her classmates. Enjoy!!!
Saltine Toffee Candy
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
40 saltine crackers
Heat over to 400 degrees
Line a 12×17 cookie sheet with foil and spray well with cooking spray
Layer the saltines on top of the foil
Heat butter and sugar on stove top until boiling, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat to a low boil and cook, uncovered between 3 and 5 minutes, until the mixture is thickened and the sugar is dissolved. MAKE SURE NOT TO BURN THE MIXTURE!!!!!!
Pour butter and sugar mixture over the crackers and spread evenly
Bake 5-6 minutes in the oven
Remove pan from the oven and let cool for 3 minutes, then sprinkle the chocolate chips over the crackers and sugar.
As the chocolate melts spread it evenly over the crackers and sugar using a knife
Let cool completely (refrigerate to cool quicker)
Break into bite size pieces and serve.
Store covered in the refrigerator.
