Mark’s Quality Meats & Gourmet Seafood

This summer in the Hamptons, I went to the nicest BBQ.  The food was incredible.  The hostess told me she uses Mark’s Quality Meats and Seafood home delivery service for EVERYTHING.  Mark Siegel is the owner and he has been delivering his flash frozen fresh meats and seafood all around the greater New York and Connecticut areas for year.  The meat is prime and aged, grass fed, antibiotic and hormone free.  I have to say it is the best I have ever had.  The most fabulous part is that you order just want you need.  NO CONTRACTS.  Just email Mark he will give you the week’s market price and deliver your order right to your door, along with a free gift.  I have tried the Salmon, Filets and Ribs so far.  I am amazed at the quality!!!!…butcher quality meats at market prices and dropped off to your home, as you need, to boot!!!   To join Marks loyal fan base, check out his website HERE. And  you can email Mark directly with any questions, HERE.

Feeding the College Crowd

I cannot believe next weekend is Columbus Day weekend.  Wasn’t it just the 4th of July?  My son will be coming home with a few friends so we are going to have a full house of hungry boys!!!  I am sure they will be out most of the time but I do need to start planning some crowd pleasing meals.  I found two awesome recipes online that I wanted to share with you, Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken Burritos and Smores Dip.  I know both will be perfect for the group I will be feeding!!!!  I am sure your family will LOVE these go to recipes too and they will become household favorites..I promise!!….Bon Appetit!!!!!

Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken Burritos
adapted from gimmiesomeoven.com

Put chicken breasts in a your slow cooker (approx. 2 lbs or 4 large cutlets) and cover with a jar of salsa (I use mild but if you should use your favorite). Stir until chicken is covered.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4 hours
When chicken is done, shred it with a fork and toss with remaining salsa and juices until well mixed.

Put the shredded chicken on a tortilla (or this Gluten Free Option) and add guacamole, beans, rice, shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, sour cream, what ever you like and fold to form a burrito.

Anthropologie

Anthropologie is one of my favorite places.  It is my go to when I am looking for something stylish with a bohemian twist.  Whether it be clothing, accessories or home decor.  I always leave with a special unique find.  Recently I went to their “dream” store in Westport, Ct where I found multiple floors full of adorable clothes, a beauty boutique (the face masks are incredible..the rose petal one was our fav), full scale room vignettes, a shoe salon and a full service bridal boutique!!!!!!  As for me, I left with 2 adorable dresses for the fall without breaking the bank and OMG!!!! they are so amazing!!!  I was also so impressed with the handmade local artist jewelry selection and adorable embellished flats!!!!  See for yourself!!!!!

Serena and Lily Design

Last week I visited the Serena and Lily Design Shop in Westport, Ct.  They transformed the historic Kenper-Gunn house into their newest design store.  There are 3 incredible floors of inspiration.  From the Kitchen to the Kid Shop, the store is full of the Serena and Lily signature fabrics, rugs, wallpapers and silhouettes.  The vibe channels the outdoor landscape of California mixed with grays and golds to create a welcoming glow!!   I met with Althea Perley of the design team and she showed me around the space.  I was speechless and in awe of all the incredible vignettes.  Althea is happy to collaborate on any project, big or small.  Bring in your tear sheets, blue prints, or just your vision and she will make it happen.  She will load you up with ideas, swatches and decisions for all your design needs.  To contact Althea, click HERE.  Happy Designing!!!!

Bond 45

One of my all time favorite GO TO New York restaurants, Bond 45 was closed for over a year to relocate and renovate.  It is a theater district favorite and a hangout of Broadway actors, producers, creators and theater makers .  The food is consistently incredible and the location truly amazing, because it is convenient to all shows!!  I cannot not tell you how many times I’d stop into Bond 45 pre theater or just meet a friend for a yummy dinner or to grab a quick bite with my kids.  It is consistently good, the workers are so kind and they have you in and out with plenty of time for your show.  I kid you not..I was lost without it.  UNTIL!!!!!!  TODAY!!!!!  Bond 45 re-opened today in its new location 221 W 46th.  It’s the same awesome menu and close proximity to parking BUT it is completely renovated.  The broadway set designer of Hamilton, David Korins has completely designed the new space and it is suppose to be incredible.  Plus they promise to still give you their famous chocolate peanut brittle to take with you as you are walking out the door.  So if you are looking for me from now on..I will happily be back at Bond 45!!!!  Bon Appetit!!!!

Weekend Real Estate Stalking

A few years ago, one of my closest friends, Leeann Leahy moved to Maine.  Let me explain the depth of this situation….this is a person I never lived more that a few miles from from the age of 11/12.  All throughout middle school, high school, college, New York City living, and then married life.  Can you imagine that…always in the same state for over 30 years???!!!!????  Then one day she gets this incredible job offer, and decides to move miles and hours away…Maine?  Really?  WAIT???? REALLY?   Well after my extreme sadness took over, amazing things started to happen for her.  And, I really could not be sad anymore…Just PROUD!!!!  She became CEO of that company that moved her.  Tons of amazing articles were written about her, like this one HERE, and FINALLY the beautiful house that she painstaking renovated was published in a magazine last week.  I HAD to share it with you!!  Way to go Leona!!!!
